🤩 We are delighted to reveal that Kawai Australia and Piano Direction have generously donated a Kawai CA401 Digital Piano in celebration of our Festival of Arts.

🎉 And you have the opportunity to make this stunning piano yours!! 🎉

We will be taking bids for the piano from tomorrow through to Monday, via an online auction. If you saw the beautiful Ambre Hammond play the Kawai CA401 at our Annual Dinner you'll understand the exceptional sound this instrument produces. 🎹🎶

Some of the strongest school memories aren’t made in the classroom.

For School Captain Mia Tippet, two experiences stand out: Thailand Outreach and the Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award trip to New Zealand. Whether it was from experiencing shared challenges, conversations in a different setting, unexpected moments, or forming inside jokes, these trips gave Mia the chance to know her peers and teachers in a deeper way.

At Macarthur, opportunities abound. From service trips to outdoor education, Duke of Edinburgh, sport, music, agriculture, performing arts and more, students are encouraged to step in, try something new, and make the most of the years they have here.

To our younger students: say yes to the opportunities in front of you. They may become the memories you treasure most.

Our Macarthur students enjoyed success at the Interschool Snowsport State Championships in Perisher last week. Plenty of fun was had across several days of competition in snowboarding and skiing events. Congratulations to Owen, Fraser, Eliza, Chloe, Bronte, and Millie, who have qualified for the National Championships. This is an outstanding achievement. ⛷🏂🇦🇺

The individual Study Tour students are on their way home. They finished off an amazing month with us with a celebratory BBQ alongside their buddies and a lovely afternoon tea with their host families.

A heartfelt thank you to our incredible homestay families for opening your hearts and homes to host our visitors. Thank you also to the whole school community for making them feel so welcome, safe, and cared for. 💙

🎉 Festival of Arts this Friday!! 🎉

The whole school community, extended families, and friends are welcome at this stunning showcase of talent that is our annual Festival of Arts.

✨ The event gets underway from 3.00pm-7.30pm and highlights include:
• Visual Arts: Feature gallery display 🎨
• Junior Strings, Intermediate Strings, Sinfonia Strings, Chamber Strings & Arco 🎻
• Intermediate Concert Band, Senior Concert Band, Stage Band, Percussion Ensemble & Drum Corp 🥁🎷
• The Bellbirds, Choir, Vocal Ensemble, Boys Vocal Ensemble & Harp Ensemble
• Drama Performances, Chapel Band & MISA Dance 🎭💃

We welcomed some unusual visitors to school this morning—robots!

Our Years 9 to Year 12 Computing students took part in an engaging workshop with Neuranext AI, exploring some impressive capabilities of modern robotics and learning how to future-proof their careers in artificial intelligence.

The excitement quickly spread beyond the classroom as the robots explored the School grounds. Students and staff were especially delighted when one even stopped to do a dance!

🎀 What a wonderful night at the Men@Macarthur Pint & Plait last night!

Dads had so much fun learning new hairstyling skills to go home and practice on their daughters. There was plenty of discussion about whether Mrs Stelzer would approve of their plaits🤣, but their efforts were super impressive.🤩 And the setting certainly helped!🍺

Macarthur was represented by four of our Prefects at the Camden RSL Vietnam Veterans Day service today.

Matthew and Hamish presented the address, while Matthew and Thomas led the prayers. It was a privilege for our students to participate in this significant occasion and to honour the service and sacrifice of our veterans.

We were grateful for the warm welcome from the veterans and the Camden RSL community, who greatly appreciated the involvement of our students.

🇮🇩 Our Year 11 Indonesian students stepped outside the classroom yesterday to celebrate Indonesian Independence Day at the Consul-General's home in Rose Bay!

The students witnessed the traditional flag-raising ceremony (Upacara Bendera) and loved chatting with the local Indonesian community, putting their language skills to work in the real world.

A big thank you to the Indonesian Consulate for hosting our students. 😊
