Our hearts and prayers go out to Chris and all the cats at Happy Cat Sanctuary. This is a terrible loss to the rescue community. Chris truely dedicated his life to help these animals, and this is a horrific end.

Outbreaks of canine parvovirus have been confirmed across Adelaide’s northern and western suburbs.

The virus is highly contagious, mainly affecting unvaccinated puppies and dogs, and is often fatal if left untreated.

Cases have been confirmed in Andrews Farm, Elizabeth Grove, Elizabeth South, and Seaton.

Symptoms include lethargy, loss of appetite, severe vomiting, and diarrhoea.

RSPCA SA is reminding dog owners that parvovirus progresses rapidly, and to seek immediate veterinary assistance if the animal has any of the above symptoms.
