πŸ’› You Are Not Alone
Does your child struggle with times tables?
Maybe you've tried worksheets, flashcards, apps and practising at the kitchen table...
And you're still hearing:
"I can't remember."
"I'm bad at maths."
"It's too hard."
You might be wondering:
"What am I doing wrong?"
The answer is: probably nothing.
Every child learns differently, and sometimes they need a different approachβ€”not more pressure.
Your child may be feeling overwhelmed, worried about making mistakes or simply lacking confidence.
And you're not alone in this. πŸ’›
At Learning Boosters, we understand how difficult it can be when learning becomes a source of stress at home.
That's why we focus on:
🌱 Building confidence
🎲 Learning through games
πŸ” Discovering patterns
πŸ’› Celebrating small wins
🧠 Understanding how your child learns
Because the goal isn't just to remember a times table.
It's to help your child believe:
"I can do this."
And sometimes, that's the first step towards everything changing. ✨
πŸ‘‡ If you've been feeling alone in your child's learning journey, leave a πŸ’› below.

πŸ’ What's Your Child Really Thinking?
When your child says...
❌ "I can't do it."
❌ "I'm bad at maths."
❌ "I don't know."
❌ "Can we do this later?"
What are they really trying to tell you?
Sometimes, underneath those words might be:
πŸ’ "I'm scared I'll get it wrong."
πŸ’ "Everyone else seems to know this."
πŸ’ "I'm worried you'll be disappointed."
πŸ’ "I don't understand where to start."
πŸ’ "This feels too hard."
πŸ’ "I need you to help me, but I don't know how to ask."
As parents, it's easy to see the behaviour and think, "They're not trying."
But what if they're actually feeling overwhelmed, frustrated or afraid of failing?
At Learning Boosters, we believe it's important to look beyond the answer and understand the child behind the learning.
Because sometimes a child doesn't need more pressure.
They need someone to say:
πŸ’› "I can see this feels hard."
πŸ’› "Let's take it one step at a time."
πŸ’› "You don't have to know it yet."
πŸ’› "I'm here to help you."
When children feel understood, they can begin to feel safe enough to try again.
And that is where confidence starts. 🌱
πŸ‘‡ What do you think your child is really saying when they say, "I can't do it"?
I'd love to hear your thoughts.

πŸ’› Speed Isn't Everything
Does your child worry because they're not the fastest at times tables?
Here's something I want every parent to know:
Speed isn't the same as understanding.
A child who takes a little longer to work out an answer isn't failing.
They might be thinking.
πŸ” Looking for a pattern.
🧠 Working through a strategy.
πŸ’ Building their confidence.
✨ Making connections.
I'd much rather hear:
"I'm not sure, but I'll have a go."
than:
"I know it quickly, but I'm scared I'll get it wrong."
At Learning Boosters, we focus on understanding before speed and confidence before pressure.
Because the goal isn't simply to answer quickly.
It's to help children understand multiplication, remember what they've learnt and feel confident enough to keep trying.
πŸ’› So next time your child takes a little longer, try saying:
"Take your time. Let's work it out together."
That little bit of encouragement can make a big difference.
πŸ‘‡ Does your child worry about being too slow with times tables? I'd love to hear your experience.

🌈 Learning Can Feel Different

Have you ever wondered why something seems easy for one child, but really difficult for another?

One child might remember their times tables quickly, while another needs to use patterns, pictures, games or a little more time.

That doesn't mean one child is smarter.

It means every child learns differently. πŸ’›

Sometimes learning can feel difficult because a child is:

😟 Feeling overwhelmed
πŸ’ Worried about making mistakes
πŸ’” Losing confidence
🐒 Needing more time
🎲 Needing a different way to learn

At Learning Boosters, we don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach.

We look at the child behind the learning and ask:

✨ How does this child learn best?
✨ What is making this feel difficult?
✨ How can we make learning feel safer, easier and more enjoyable?

Maybe it's through a game. 🎲
Maybe it's discovering a pattern. πŸ”
Maybe it's breaking the task into smaller steps. 🌱
Maybe it's simply having someone say, "I believe you can do this."

Because when children feel understood and supported, something can change...

"I can't do this."
becomes
"I think I can have a go." πŸ’›

And that's where confidence begins.

At Learning Boosters, our goal isn't just to teach a subject.

It's to help children become happy, curious and empowered learners.

πŸ‘‡ Does your child learn differently from their siblings or classmates? Tell us what helps them learn best!

πŸ’› The Hidden Cost of Times Tables Struggles
When parents tell me their child is struggling with times tables, I often say this...
It's rarely just about multiplication.
The real challenge is what children begin to believe about themselves.
It starts with comments like:
πŸ’ "I can't remember."
πŸ’ "Everyone else is faster than me."
πŸ’ "I'm no good at maths."
Over time, those thoughts can grow into something much bigger.
Children stop putting their hand up.
They avoid maths.
They compare themselves to others.
Worst of all, they begin believing they can't improve.
As a teacher, that's what concerns me most.
I remember one student who could solve multiplication questions during games, but the moment a worksheet came out, they'd freeze and say,
"I'm going to get them all wrong."
It wasn't a lack of ability.
It was a lack of confidence.
So we changed our approach.
We played games.
We looked for patterns.
We celebrated every small win.
Slowly, their words changed from...
"I can't."
To...
πŸ’› "I think I can work this one out."
And eventually...
πŸ’› "I did it!"
That's why the Times Tables Mastery Course isn't just about learning multiplication facts.
It's about helping children build confidence, understand patterns and enjoy learning again.
Because when children believe "I can do this," everything changes.

πŸ’› Supportive Tough Love: Helping Your Child Through the Fear
Sometimes, the best way to help our children isn't by pushing them harder...
It's by standing beside them while they face something that feels difficult.
Children don't need pressure to succeed.
They need encouragement to keep trying.
When your child says,
"I can't do it,"
try responding with:
πŸ’› "You can't do it yet, but I'll help you."
πŸ’› "Let's work through it together."
πŸ’› "Making mistakes means you're learning."
This is what I call supportive tough love.
It's not lowering expectations or giving up when learning gets hard.
It's believing in your child, even when they don't believe in themselves.
Over time, those small moments of encouragement help children replace fear with confidence.
🌟 Try this at home:
The next time your child feels frustrated, resist the urge to give them the answer.
Instead, ask:
✨ "What's one thing you already know?"
✨ "Can you have one more try?"
✨ "What strategy could we use?"
You might be surprised at what they can achieve with just a little support.
At Learning Boosters, we believe every child learns differently. Our role isn't just to teach the subjectβ€”it's to help children feel safe, capable and confident enough to keep learning.
Because confidence grows one small step at a time. πŸ’›
