Recapping Our Child Protection Week! ⭐
✨ This week we celebrated Child Protection Week, with everyday conversations about how OOSHies can stay protected at home, at school, online & out in public. We talked about safety circles & the safe people in our lives, consent & privacy & the rules & boundaries that help keep us safe, from wearing sunscreen to always wearing a helmet. OOSHies also took part in hands on activities including making their own safety plans, working through discussion cards on safe versus unsafe scenarios, joining a 'My Body My Choice' collaborative colouring in & decorating our child protection banner together as a group.
💙 Teaching children about safety circles, consent & boundaries gives them the tools & confidence to recognise unsafe situations & know who to turn to for help. It's why our educators make these conversations a priority all year round, not just this week.
🦋 These activities helped children build a strong sense of identity, learning to understand consent, personal boundaries & who they can trust, aligning with My Time, Our Place: a strong sense of identity.
💡 Did you know? Conversations & activities like these support the learning outcomes in My Time, Our Place & help meet the National Quality Standard for children's health & safety.
