🥕🥦 Excursion to Coles 🛒

Today we enjoyed a lovely excursion to our local Coles, where the children helped choose fresh vegetables for our afternoon tea. 🌽🍅

The children practiced important life skills such as walking safely in the community, recognising different vegetables, and making healthy choices. They were very excited to take part and did a wonderful job working together.

We all enjoyed preparing and enjoying our delicious afternoon tea made with the vegetables we purchased! 😊✨

🔥🚒 Fire Safety Visit at OSELC! 🚒🔥

This week we were lucky to welcome the wonderful Fire and Rescue NSW Station 240 Brunswick Heads to our centre for a hands‑on fire safety session with the children.

The children learned about many different ways we can keep safe from fire, such as making sure we have a working smoke alarm, calling 000 and "getting down low and go go go"!

The highlight of the visit? Getting a turn at using the fire hose! Lots of fun and plenty of excited smiles! 💦😊

A huge thank you to Fire and Rescue NSW Station 240 Brunswick Heads for taking the time to educate our children in such an engaging and age‑appropriate way. Building confidence and safety awareness early makes such a difference. ❤️

📚✨ Excursion Day: Mobile Library Visit! ✨📚

Today our little learners enjoyed a wonderful adventure visiting the Mobile Library! 🚌💛

Every fortnight, the preschool children have the opportunity to visit the Mobile Library and borrow books using their very own library cards. They love exploring new stories, listening to read‑alouds, and discovering the joy of reading in a fun and welcoming space.
Excursions like these help nurture early literacy, spark curiosity, and encourage a lifelong love of books, all while building confidence and strengthening community connections 📖🌈

✨ A Very Special Visit from the NSW SES! ✨

On Wednesday, the children had an exciting and educational visit from the State Emergency Service (SES)! 🧡🚨

Our SES volunteers spent time teaching the children about staying safe in emergencies, what their important work involves, and how they help our community during storms, floods, and other emergencies. The children were absolutely captivated, especially when they got to explore the equipment and ride on their truck!

We’re so grateful to our SES visitors for giving up their time to help our little learners understand safety in a fun, hands‑on way. 🙏🦺

🩵 Bike Day at Ocean Shores Early Learning Centre! 🚲

Inspired by one of our amazing little adventurers who loves exploring on two wheels, we hosted a special Bike Day for Ocean Shores ELC students.

The children had a blast learning about bike safety🦺, practicing their balance🚲, and sharing stories about their favorite rides🩵

It’s incredible to see their confidence grow and it was a wonderful contribution to our preschool curriculum.

🎶 Drum Roll, Please! 🥁

Last week, the children had an amazing drumming experience hosted by Sound Synergy!

The children learnt about beats, patterns, and the joy of making music together, and that drumming is fun! 🪘

Hands-on activities like this help develop coordination, listening skills and teamwork 💛

Today we were very lucky, Nikki turned our meals into fun Halloween treats! 👻🎃

We enjoyed ghost pancakes for morning tea, monster spaghetti bolognese for lunch, and finished the day with spider snacks, fruit monsters, and veggie ghosts for afternoon tea! 🕷️🍓🥦

Hearts Full, Hands Clapping! 💕🥁

A huge thank you to Catholic Healthcare for welcoming us to Coolamon Villa for such a wonderful visit! 💛

Our preschoolers enjoyed a very special excursion this week, sharing smiles, songs, and laughter with the residents. They performed “Inanay Capuana” using their clapping sticks — filling the room with music, joy, and connection. 🎶

Moments like these remind us of the true beauty of community, where young and old come together to share, learn, and grow. 🥰

🐛 Silkworm Life Cycle in Preschool 🐛
After the excitement of our chicken hatching, our preschoolers are now exploring silkworms!

Lenka brought in six silkworms—three have already spun their cocoons while the others enjoy fresh mulberry leaves each morning. The children are showing amazing curiosity as they observe, predict, and share what they see.

We’re all eagerly waiting to see what emerges next… 🐛➡️🦋
