🎃👻 Spooky sensory fun! 🕷️🦴

Our little explorers have been getting hands-on with this Halloween-inspired sensory tray, filled with creepy crawlies, spooky skeletons, pumpkin pots and a big, bright jack-o’-lantern! 🧡🖤

The children loved exploring the different textures, moving the little props around and using their imagination to create their own spooky scenes. A fun way to encourage sensory exploration, fine motor skills, creativity and imaginative play! 👐✨

🌿 From Story to Creation: Our Kinder Billy House Project! 🐾

Over the past few weeks, our Kinder children have been inspired by the story of the bilby and its special home. What began as a story sparked curiosity, questions, research and an incredible hands-on project!

Together, the children researched bilbies and their habitats, explored what a bilby house might look like, and discussed the materials we could use to create our very own habitat. They collected natural and recycled materials, experimented with different ways to build, and worked collaboratively to bring their ideas to life.

Piece by piece, our Bilby House took shape! 🏡🌿 The children carefully created burrows, added rocks, sticks, leaves and other natural materials, and included bilby friends and other Australian animals to make their habitat come alive.

Most importantly, this project gave our children opportunities to research, problem-solve, collaborate, create and care for Australian wildlife. We have been so proud to watch their ideas grow and see the excitement and ownership they have shown throughout the process.

What an amazing journey from story → research → imagination → creation! 💚

📚✨ Revisiting Our Learning! ✨📚

There’s something so special about seeing children revisit and reflect on their own learning. 💛

During Book Week, our Kinder children worked together to create this giant book, filling it with their ideas, creativity, stories and learning. Today, they proudly gathered around their finished work, pointing, talking and remembering all the wonderful experiences that went into creating it.

As they revisited their giant book, they were not only celebrating what they had created, but also reflecting on the hard work, collaboration, problem-solving and learning that happened along the way.

These moments of reflection help children recognise just how much they have achieved and build a strong sense of pride and ownership in their learning. 🌟

🌸 Transitions are easier with a little support 💕

Transitions can be a big part of a child’s day in childcare — moving between activities, spaces, routines, and even saying goodbye to familiar people.
But sometimes, having a familiar face beside you can make all the difference. 💗

These two little ones show us just how powerful relationships, connection and a sense of security can be. With her sister by her side, a new experience becomes a little less daunting and a lot more enjoyable. 🥰

✨ Sometimes, the best support during a transition is simply knowing someone you trust is right there beside you.

☀️🦆 A little sunshine, water play and lots of learning! 💦💛

The children have been having so much fun exploring our duck pond sensory play! 🐥🌿 They have been using their developing fine motor and hand-eye coordination skills to scoop up the ducks with the different scoops and nets, carefully transferring them through the water.

It has been wonderful to see the children practising their grasp, coordination, concentration and problem-solving skills while engaging in meaningful, hands-on play. 🥰💦

🚔👮 A Special Visit to Our Toddler Room! 👮🚔

Our toddlers had a very exciting visit from some local police officers! The children enjoyed learning all about safety and got to see and learn about some of the different tools police use to help keep our community safe.

The excitement continued outside, where the children had the opportunity to explore a police vehicle and even hear the sirens! 🚓🔊

It was a wonderful hands-on learning experience, and the children were fascinated by everything they saw and heard. A big thank you to our visiting officers for taking the time to chat with our little ones and make safety learning so engaging! ❤️

Getting into the Grand Final spirit with plenty of creativity, teamwork and a little friendly competition! 💛🖤

Our little footy fans have been busy making their own colourful Grand Final crafts, exploring our sensory footy setup and enjoying plenty of imaginative play. 🏉✨

From homemade goal posts to hand-painted decorations, it’s been a fantastic way to celebrate the excitement of footy while supporting creativity, fine-motor skills and teamwork.

🌿 A special Aboriginal Incursion in Kinder! 🦘🌮

Our Kinder children had a wonderful hands-on learning experience as part of our Aboriginal incursion through the Merreedyeeg Tucker program.

The children explored Indigenous culture and had the opportunity to learn about and work with native Australian ingredients.

A real highlight was getting involved in making kangaroo tacos! 🌮🦘 The children helped prepare the ingredients, added vegetables and seasonings, and enjoyed seeing how everything came together.

It was a fantastic opportunity for our little learners to connect with Aboriginal culture through food, storytelling and hands-on experiences. There were lots of curious questions, excited faces and plenty of proud little chefs! 💛

A big thank you to our incursion presenters for sharing their knowledge and creating such a memorable experience for our Kinder children. 🌿✨

This morning our Kinder children got to participate in the early years ‘Bravehearts’ Program.
This program teaches children personal safety skills and strategies that can help build confidence and resilience, helping keep them safe.
They participated in some dancing and singing that taught them key words to use to help them feel safe and how to tell a safe adult if they are feeling scared.
