It was very exciting to see our first fully bloomed daffodil at kindy this week! From last term, children each planted a daffodil bulb and we shared the wonderful story of “That’s not a daffodil!” by Elizabeth Honey. We have watched the bulbs grow and transform, and today children were invited to paint the daffodil using watercolour paints.

What a lovely first week of Term 3 we had! We welcomed 6 new children this week, and also resumed our fortnightly Little Acorns playgroup on Thursday morning. We hope all the children who finished kindy last term and started school this week had a great start too.

A huge thank you again to the Oakbank Hotel for their generous donation of $395 to our kindy from their community fundraiser night. We have put this money towards buying new Mobilo. Children have loved it and have been very busy constructing and using their imaginations and engineering skills to design, build and create with our new and additional Mobilo pieces.

These beautiful flowers will be for sale at the Oakbank Markets this Saturday, May 9! A lovely gift for Mother’s Day or someone special. All proceeds will go towards supporting our kindergarten. Our Governing Council and staff members were busy yesterday afternoon bunching these beautiful flowers to sell at the Oakbank Markets this Saturday! If you’re looking for a gift for Mother’s Day, these gorgeous native flowers will be selling for $25 a bunch or $5 for a small posy. We also have bunches of beautiful blue gum for $10. All proceeds raised will go towards supporting our kindergarten. The Oakbank Markets will take place this Saturday (May 9) from 9am - 2pm. We hope to see you there!

A huge thank you to everyone who came and helped out at our kindy’s Day of Doing event on Saturday. Thanks to a $500 grant from the Adelaide Hills Council, and the help of families and educators, our community garden now has additional garden beds, plants and trees and is looking great! A big thank you also to the Balhannah Butchery and Balhannah Bakery for supporting this event.

We are thrilled to have received a $500 grant from the Adelaide Hills Council for a Day of Doing! The funds will be used to enhance our community garden at the front of our kindergarten. Kindy and playgroup families are invited to join us for the Day of Doing to work on our community garden this Saturday from 9.30am to 12.30pm.
