Righto - one of the things that came out last night was the feeling that it should only be 5 years before we get together again - so 45 years - and the general thoughts were that the same weekend would suit - so - Saturday December 4th 2027 - venue TBA!
Was a couple thoughts as well about a Friday night kick off at the Vine Inn in our old 'spot', as well as maybe a Sunday 'brunch' somewhere - to make the most of the weekend, but to give everyone 3 shots at catching up - if the Saturday night doesn't suit!
Put the date on the fridge - get in touch with anyone you know who is not in this group or on social media and start spreading the word - there were about 235 of us all up - would be nice to get 100+ together for a night (weekend)! 😁😁

40 year reunion done and dusted. It was lovely catching up with those who could make it and hearing news of others who weren’t there.
Next reunion 45 years in 2027 - pop it in the diary!

Looking forward to catching up with everyone on 3 December. I’ve been looking for accommodation for the night with no luck - everything is booked for Day on the Green.
So….. anyone want to carpool from Adelaide or have any ideas where I can stay?

OK - so managed to get a copy of Marcus Krieg's book - Nuri High 1935-1985 - and here is the list of all the people that started in 1978 (our year) - what it doesn't separate though, is if any of them were not year 8's and were late starters.
What it also doesn't show is those who started our year late - like Sue Blight, Terry Lamden, Dawn Albinger, Wayne Warnest & Co - but at least we have a pretty good idea of all 230 odd of us!

One of the things Wanera have said we can do is have our own playlist playing - so - did we want to put together a playlist of songs from 1978 to 1982 to have playing all night!
So - just need to put a playlist together of all of our favourite songs from those years!
Figure a good one to start with would be Planet Claire - released in 1978 - but also one we all went nuts to when the lads from Mainstream would belt it out! Leave your faves in the comments and we'll start a playlist!

OK - firstly, a big apology for all the details of our 40 Year Anniversary taking so long to be announced - a combination of venues not getting back to me (still waiting on a couple) - and a few other issues that had priority - BUT - it seriously couldn't be left any later - so here it is (and I hope it suits);
Saturday, December 3rd - from 6.00pm, to when we drop!
$40.00 per head (pay on arrival) - platter food served from 7.00pm, purchase own drinks over the bar.
Wanera Wine Bar/Restaurant, Murray Street, Angaston - in the stable area (which we will have to ourselves - see pics)

Hope this works for everyone - I know it's a week later than originally planned - but this was the best option, and being outside, hopefully the weather plays the game!
