Dear Families,

It’s time to celebrate the wonderful people who nurture, guide, encourage and inspire our children every day! 💙✨

This Wednesday, 2nd September, we’ll be celebrating Educators’ Day, and we’d love for our families to help us make it a memorable one for our amazing educators. 🥰

We invite you to share a few special words of appreciation by writing a message, note or simply something you love about our educators on the paper available at reception. Once you’ve written your message, please add it to our Educator Appreciation Wall. 💌🌸

Whether it’s a heartfelt thank you, a favourite memory, or a few kind words, every message will help brighten our educators’ day and show them how much their dedication and care means to our children and families. ❤️

Let’s make our wall a beautiful celebration of the wonderful educators who play such an important role in our children’s lives! 💐

Thank you for joining us in making our educators feel loved, valued and truly appreciated!

🤍 12 months. One incredible journey. 🤍

Twelve months ago, I walked through the doors of Goodstart Nuriootpa and stepped into the role of Centre Director.

I’d love to say I arrived with a perfect plan, a clear vision and everything neatly under control… but the truth is, I like a bit of unknown- that’s where the adventure is!

And somehow, in the middle of that unknown, something incredibly special began to happen.
I was welcomed.

Not cautiously. Not from a distance. But with open arms.

♥️ To our beautiful families — thank you. Thank you for trusting me, for welcoming me so warmly, for sharing your children with us and for allowing me to become part of your community. Your kindness, patience, conversations, smiles and encouragement have meant more than you probably realise.

💙 To our incredible children — you are quite simply the reason I smile every day. Your laughter, your little voices calling my name, the cuddles, the stories, the curious questions and the wonderfully unpredictable moments remind me every day why this work matters. You have a way of turning even the hardest day into something worth smiling about.

💜 But most of all, to our educators…

Thank you.

You welcomed me at a time when things felt messy, uncertain and, at times, overwhelming.

You could have kept your distance. Instead, you opened the door and invited me in.

Together, we rolled up our sleeves.

We had hard conversations. We faced challenges. We celebrated the little wins. We learned, adapted, laughed, sometimes cried, and kept showing up.

And slowly, together, we began to create something amazing.

Not because one person had all the answers, but because we chose to believe in each other.

This past year has reminded me that a great centre isn’t built from walls, policies or programs.

It is built by people.
People who care deeply.
People who show up.
People who believe in children.
People who support one another.
People who are willing to keep going when things are hard.

And I am incredibly proud to stand alongside a team of people who do exactly that.

When I look back at the person who walked through those doors twelve months ago, I realise
how much this place has changed me too.
I came in thinking I was here to lead.

But I’ve learned that leadership is really about listening, trusting, growing alongside others and creating the space for people to shine.

So, as I celebrate 12 months as Centre Director of Goodstart Nuriootpa, I’m not celebrating a title or a position.

I’m celebrating us.
The educators who welcomed me.
The families who trusted me.
The children who make me smile.
The challenges we overcame.
The moments we shared.
And the beautiful community we are continuing to build together.

Thank you for letting me be part of it.

Here’s to the first 12 months — and to everything we’ll create together in the years ahead. 💛

With a very full heart, thank you.

Ever had one of those "What should I be doing with my child?" moments? You might already have the answer at home.

Earlier this year, every Goodstart family received a What & When for Families guide for each child. If it's been tucked away in a drawer since then, now might be the perfect time to pull it back out.

The guide is packed with simple, play-based activities that support your child's learning and development at home. Best of all, it's written in your child's voice, with ideas tailored to their age and developmental stage.

From singing songs with babies and playing peek-a-boo, to "I Spy" games, storytelling and treasure hunts with older children, the activities are designed to fit naturally into everyday moments you already share together.

We know learning doesn't only happen in the classroom. Those small moments at home can help build big communication, language and literacy skills.

Take another look through your What & When for Families guide to explore age-appropriate activities and learning ideas you can try together.

💛 Sometimes the best learning resource is the one you already have at home.
