Today we recognise Asalha Puja, an important day for many Buddhist communities around the world.

Exploring different cultures, beliefs and traditions helps children develop empathy, respect and an appreciation for the diverse world around them. Through stories, conversations and shared experiences, we encourage children to celebrate the many ways people live, learn and connect.

📚 Bee Curious Book Spotlight: Baby’s First Words

Every new word helps little ones make sense of their world.

Baby’s First Words introduces children to familiar objects, people and everyday language, helping them build vocabulary and develop their confidence as communicators.

By naming, pointing, repeating and talking together, educators create meaningful opportunities for children to connect words with the people, places and experiences around them.

What word is your little one currently saying on repeat?

📚 Bee Curious Book Spotlight: Dear Zoo

What could be hiding behind the flap?

Dear Zoo encourages little ones to explore, predict and discover as they meet a collection of animals throughout the story.

The lift-the-flap format helps build curiosity, confidence and fine motor skills, while introducing children to different animals and their unique characteristics.

It is a simple story that creates plenty of opportunities for conversation, participation and shared discovery.

Which animal would your little one choose from the zoo?

To celebrate 50 years of NAIDOC Week, every child from Busy Bees at Furlong Road contributed to a vibrant collaborative mural that now welcomes families and visitors into the centre.

Each colourful handprint represents a child, their unique story and their place within the Busy Bees community. As the mural came together, educators supported meaningful, age-appropriate conversations about culture, respect, belonging and the importance of recognising the histories, cultures and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Now proudly displayed at the centre entrance, the mural is more than a piece of artwork. It reflects our commitment to creating a learning environment where every child belongs, every voice is valued and every hand helps build something meaningful.

📚 Bee Curious Book Spotlight: It’s a Little Baby

Through playful actions, movement and shared reading, It’s a Little Baby invites little ones to engage with the story in a joyful and meaningful way.

Interactive prompts help support early social and emotional development, while encouraging children to connect, respond and participate alongside their educators and friends.

At Busy Bees, books are more than stories. They are opportunities to build confidence, strengthen relationships and inspire curiosity.

What action does your little one enjoy joining in with during story time?

Introducing our Book of the Week: Orange Pear Apple Bear - Emily Gravett

Orange Pear Apple Bear may use only a handful of words, but that is exactly what makes it so clever.

Through repetition, rhythm and playful word order, children are introduced to early vocabulary, listening skills and the joy of language. It is a great choice for little ones beginning to recognise sounds, patterns and familiar objects.

Simple words. Big learning!

Storytime prompt: Point to each object and ask, “Can you find the apple? Can you find the bear?”

Care goes beyond our centre walls - it’s about showing up for children and families when it matters most. 💜

Throughout March & April, Busy Bees Early Learning proudly partners with Bravehearts for Bunnies for Bravehearts. Together, we raised an incredible $22,987.

So what does $22,987 mean in real terms?
✨ It means 70 counselling sessions funded, supporting children on their healing journey.
🐰 It means 260 comfort bunnies provided, offering reassurance, security and care during difficult moments.

At Busy Bees Early Learning, safety is woven through everything we do - and we know our role extends beyond early learning. It’s about contributing to a broader ecosystem of care that supports wellbeing, protection and recovery.

To our families, team members and community - thank you.
You’ve helped ensure no child walks their journey alone.
