Utassy Ballet School has a rich history and repetoire which gives its students a special appreciation for ballet, character and contemporary dance.

Utassy Ballet School celebrated it's 50th Anniversary in 2010 which culminated in two massive shows at the Playhouse in the Arts Centre, a huge effort and success alike from the students, teachers and parents involved!

Did you know Utassy's Peter & the Wolf was re- produced from Sue Hayes' training with Bruce Morrow. Bruce produced the Frank Staff version (choreographed for Ballet Rambert in 1940) at the Ringwood Scout Hall. Mrs Hayes was the duck! We believe this was also the version re- produced by Dame Margaret Scott for the Australian Ballet Company/School.

Geoff Cheah's photos capture Utassy at its best! 40 years of older boys looking after/mentoring/teaching younger boys. It makes me so proud. There was the performance when a brand new grandfather missed his entrance and was devastated. When the main characters came out at the end to greet the 400 kinder children our experienced wolf of the day kindly said to the still distraught Grandfather - ‘go backstage - you don’t have to do this!’ Thanks Utassy dancers - you’ve made it all happen for 40 years!
