Year 11 Tertiary Camp
Our Year 11 group experienced a wide range of different tertiary providers during their three day camp to Melbourne last week. Over the course of a busy three days, students attended eight different university and TAFE tours, catering to their areas of interest. Students also used the time to practice their ability to navigate around the city safely, using public transport to get to and from the tours, and to undertake activities during their free time periods.
Thanks to RMIT, SAE, Latrobe University, Kangan Institute Docklands, Melbourne University, Melbourne Polytechnic, Swinburne University and William Angliss Institute for hosting our students across the three days.

VET Automotive students have been very busy day today. We started with a masterclass in 02 sensors, ECU programming and assorted open and closed loop processes. Clifford and Flynn then replaced the belt tensioner on Mr Binks old ute then replaced the power steering pump. Owen, Wyatt and Riley were presented with, in Mr Watsons words " a scratchy, grindy raspy noise from the back wheels. Owen used his prior knowledge of these noises and removed a large stone from the rear brake assembly. Our students are really impressing with their logical approach to mechanical problems

Our Year 11 students have arrived safely in Melbourne and have spent the day in the city. Their first tour being at RMIT in the city.

Humanities Essentials CAT 1 which is due in this Thursday August 13th has seen students research and then create a reproduction of a medieval artifact. Looking forward to seeing the finished products.

Year 7 this term have been busy dying and cutting out their aprons. The first ones will be almost complete by the end of next week. They are doing a great job at supporting each other to create a productive classroom.

Students in Year 8 and 9 have been using new finger joint jigs. The jigs themselves were 3D printed by Sam Owen using an engineering plastic, specially created for this class. The jigs have proven to make the job easier and more efficient for the students to use and have been enjoying the more streamlined process.
The students have been showing patience and perseverance with their projects, working hard and showing a solid understanding of OHS procedures and respect for the workshop and their peers.
We cannot wait to see your finished projects, Year 8!
