On Friday we continued our Pyjama Week which coincided perfectly with CareSouths Aunties and Uncles Day celebrations.

Aunties and Uncles day raises awareness of the comfort and stability that volunteer mentors in the program provide to children.

The program is designed to:
💜Connect children with carefully matched local volunteer mentors for enriching experiences
🩷Support children in overcoming challenges, fostering resilience and nurturing essential skills
💜 Recruit Aunties and Uncles volunteers who are compassionate, warm hearted individuals.
🩷Build a better future for local children and reduce the likelihood of entering foster care.

We all wore our scarves to raise awareness of the program. Why scarves? When wrapped around you, scarves make you feel safe, snug and supported -just like the Aunties and Uncles volunteer mentors!

Today we had the St Johns High School Indigenous dance group attend the centre to perform for the children. What a wonderful opportunity to learn about some of the cultural dances of the Aboriginal people.

The children also got to participate in some dancing.

Today 24 of our Educators attended the Invigorate conference in Denham Court near Campbeltown.
The conference was filled with some amazing speakers who challenged our thinking, provided opportunity to reflect on current practice with the encouragement to make change. It also was a wonderful opportunity to affirm that we are doing really well in many aspects of our role as Early Childhood Educators and the opportunities we create and provide for the children. Proud of the team for giving up their Saturday to engage in professional development opportunities to build our knowledge.

Today we celebrated Early Childhood Educators Day and were spoilt with gifts from our management team and some of our families. We acknowledged our amazing team for showing up each and every day committed to the Education and care of children. Thank you to our families who acknowledged the Educaotrs with lovely words of thanks, beautiful gifts and homemade treats. ❤️🌺
