We had the absolute pleasure of being introduced to Pumpkin and Moonlight, two baby chickens. Zac brought them in from home. This stemmed from weeks of conversations with Zac about how his chickens had laid eggs, and he was waiting for them to hatch. In an informal capacity, we have been learning about chickens and incubating eggs with the children. Zac was so excited to share this with his peers. The children had the opportunity to hold or pat both Moonlight and Pumpkin. Thank you Kirralee for this wonderful opportunity.

At Pitt St Kindy we love to connect the children with the local community. This gives children the opportunity to learn about their local area and be inspired by some of our local heroes.⁣

It allows the children to connect with the outside world and create a sense of belonging within their local community. ⁣

Children’s safety is our number 1️⃣ priority at Pitt St Kindy.

The Child Safe Standards provide a framework for creating child safe organisations. They are designed to drive cultural change to create, maintain and improve child safe practices. ⁣

These 10 standards are based on extensive research and consultation by the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse. They provide a clear guidance for us to create cultures, adopt strategies and act to put the interests of children first to keep them safe from harm.⁣

We incorporate these standards in our daily practice. ⁣

Weather in a jar experiment fun. The shaving cream represents the clouds and the water represents the air. The coloured water represents rain. 🌧

As the coloured water saturates the “cloud”, it gets heavy and eventually is so heavy that it can no longer hold the water. It “rains” down into the jar – through the “air.” 💨

Rock Wallaby school group really enjoyed this experiment 😍

FAQ: How can I help my toddler to talk? 📢 Speech is a key milestone that every educator and parent strives to encourage.

Here are 7 tips that you can apply in the classroom or at home! A gentle self-reminder that speech isn't a race towards literacy!

Rather, it's a journey that is unique to your child and their learning style. ✨
