This week we celebrated Science Week with plenty of hands-on learning, curiosity and discovery! At Immanuel, science extends well beyond Science Week. Through our IB Primary Years Programme (PYP), science is embedded across the curriculum through transdisciplinary Units of Inquiry, helping students make meaningful connections, ask questions and explore the world around them. A wonderful week of planting the seeds for lifelong curiosity.

It was wonderful to see everyone enjoying the evening and spending time together, while also raising funds for the ASPIRE Centre and the exciting opportunities it will create for our students.

Our Year 2 students were outstanding in their recent musical, Bugz! Each group of critters played an important role, from the Lady Bugs managing etiquette and Army Ants providing security, to the Fireflies lighting the way and Bumble Bees entertaining the guests. Through rehearsals and performances, students built confidence, communication, collaboration and perseverance. Most importantly, they discovered the value of working together, supporting one another and sharing their individual talents to create an engaging performance.

Professional learning continued at the start of Term 3 with educators taking part in sessions facilitated by CT-ed. Building on our school-wide goal of optimising challenge and support to respond to learner variability and ensure growth for every student, staff engaged in collaborative learning, reflection and peer observation.
These sessions, grounded in the Sciences of Learning, supported the exploration of a range of instructional strategies and practical approaches to strengthen classroom practice, which will enhance learning for every child.

Today, our Reception students reached an exciting milestone as they celebrated 100 Days of School. The day was filled with curiosity, creativity and celebration as students explored the significance of 100 through engaging learning experiences. From counting, problem-solving and recognising number patterns to writing reflections, students applied their learning across mathematics and literacy.
While celebrating all they have achieved in their first 100 days, we know there is still so much learning, growth and discovery ahead.

The ELC was a hive of activity during the July school holidays. There were exciting incursions, including a visit from Farmer Darcy and a Bubble Show. The children enjoyed a campfire with marshmallows and hot chocolate, Christmas in July, Art and Craft fun and even a day in PJ's. We look forward to the commencement of Term 3 on Tuesday, 21st July.
