Are you interested in being involved with a team that designs for a sustainable future? Have a passion for net-zero energy buildings and spaces that also tackle complex social, environmental, and climate issues? If so, then Monash Sustainable Buildings is the team for you!

Monash Sustainable Buildings (MSB), is a team dedicated to design innovative and sustainable solutions that reduce the high emissions associated with buildings and homes while ensuring designs are tailored to specific occupants. Our team consists of students coming from a diverse range of faculties at Monash - from Engineering and Architecture to Arts and Commerce.

We have four Operations Division, working to deliver team outreach, branding and events to help our mission in delivering education on net-zero design and other sustainable building and design engineering practices. Our Operations teams are Industry, Events, Outreach, and Marketing, which bring the amazing opportunity to expose yourself to potential industry employers, diversify your knowledge, and hone essential soft and hard skills required in the workforce.

We are excited to announce that we are currently commencing our 2026 Semester 2 recruitment round to expand all our teams! Becoming an MSB member is the perfect opportunity to gain experience in sustainable practices, software modeling, creative design, and material selection, multidisciplinary team projects, and so much more!

Are you interested in being involved with a team that designs for a sustainable future? Have a passion for net-zero energy buildings and spaces that also tackle complex social, environmental, and climate issues? If so, then Monash Sustainable Buildings is the team for you!

Monash Sustainable Buildings (MSB), is a team dedicated to design innovative and sustainable solutions that reduce the high emissions associated with buildings and homes while ensuring designs are tailored to specific occupants. Our team consists of students coming from a diverse range of faculties at Monash - from Engineering and Architecture to Arts and Commerce.

We have three technical divisions that work on a variety of large projects in multidisciplinary groups. Our Prototyping team aims to innovate creative concepts and designs for prototypes that align with our sustainability objectives and projects. Our Design Challenge Team (DCH) tackles complex briefs to come up with economical housing solutions that respond to real world climate and social issues. Our Streets Initiative works in collaboration with local councils to re-envision local streetscapes to improve mobility, connectivity and knowledge sharing in local communities.
