Music Production Studio available for long term rent.
I’m looking for someone to share my studio with. I’m no longer working full time in music and so my space has consistent availability throughout the week, with days and times negotiated between us. The space comes fully equipped with everything you would need to make tracks, and it’s all hooked up to a thunderbolt hub so everything works off one thunderbolt connection to your laptop. As you can see from the pictures there is a range of synthesisers, drum machines, guitar pedals and an electronic drum kit, so would really suit someone making electronic music. Also more than happy to accomodate your gear and swap pieces out as I don’t use everything all the time. The room is acoustically treated and has AC for that reliable Melbourne weather. 24 hour access, can use speakers between hours of 8am - 11pm, headphones outside of those times. Located in Thornbury close to trams and the Merri Creek. Only downsides are no natural light, and can’t record high volume guitars / real drums.
DM me for more details, gear list and to organise a viewing.
I am looking for someone for a 6 month commitment right now. Price is $125 / week.

Calling all music producers! I may have something you’re interested in…
I’m currently doing a research study for a new offer that I am launching, and I want to give you a value trade. TLDR: Comment “TRADE” if you are interested and fit the criteria below. 👇
For the right people, here’s my offer.
🎹Currently producing tunes? I'll listen to 3 of your tracks and give you detailed feedback on how to improve them. We’ll look at composition & arrangement, sound design and mixdown and give you some straightforward, personalised tips on how to improve your tracks right now.
Over the last 5 years I’ve helped dozens of other music producers get unstuck and refine their creative process, doubling or tripling their musical output, get releases on labels and start playing gigs and live shows, without trawling through countless Youtube videos or spending years figuring it out slowly and painfully by themselves.
But now I want to expand my own impact to a MUCH larger scale and help more and more people achieve their musical dreams.
So in exchange, If you have just 20-30 minutes out of your busy schedules, I’d love to have a quick conversation with you over the phone, zoom or actually in real life because we aren’t IN LOCKDOWN anymore!
Don’t worry, I’m not here to sell anything. I simply want to understand some of the biggest challenges you're having around producing and finishing tracks so I can refine my offer. That's it.
I’m trying to understand some of the biggest challenges you’re having around being to consistently finish high quality, professional quality tracks, without getting stuck in loops.
I’m only looking to interview 10 music producers, this is for you if you:
✅ Are wanting to get through that huge folder of unfinished tracks on your hard drive. You know the one.
✅ Are fed up of going round in circles with your loops, and abandoning projects that you started because its too hard or doesn’t sound as good as when you first had that killer idea.
✅ Feel lost and overwhelmed when staring down a blank arrangement, knowing your likely to kill your track as soon as you start to tease out a structure.
✅ Are looking to completely level up and transform your relationship to own creativity and creative process, so you can feel fulfilled musically and make the music you know you’re capable of.
✅ Keep having that sinking feeling when you realise your track sounds like a hot mess when played next to pro releases, even though you’ve been working on the mix for ages.
✅ Know exactly the sorts of sounds you want to create in your head but find synthesis and sound design a complete head f**k.
This is NOT for you if you:
❌ Need help getting started with music production or learning a DAW from scratch.
❌ Need help with complex music theory or learning how to play an instrument.
❌ Need help with mastering (Mixing and mastering are NOT the same thing!)
❌ Do not have big goals of finishing and releasing lots of music.
❌ Want someone else to create music for you to record your singing or rapping on.
There’s no catch and no cost. Just hopefully a mutually beneficial exchange. So, want to trade some value? Drop the word “TRADE” and 'll message you the deets.

"Consistency is so important when it comes to learning mixing because it helps you to focus on ruling out one by one all the different variables you can't trust while you can learn your ears and what your speakers sound like in your space.
An awesome little trick that helps with this process is the Pink Noise Mixing Trick. This little trick will help you to get a clinically balance mixed in no time at all. It's an awesome starting place and will provide you with not only a little window into what things ACTUALLY sound like on your speakers and in your room - but also a good ear reset if you've gone down the mixing rabbit hole and just don't know whats going on anymore."
My latest blog post is up with a neat little trick to help you get balanced mixes way quicker using pink noise. Hopefully this will help some of you struggling to get your mix right! Let me know how you got on using this!
The Pink Noise Mixing Trick
Mixing. Depending on who you talk to it can be the part of music production that is most looked forward to or put off and avoided like the plague. Why is this? Well in my experience it's because there are so many variables to get right. Levels, panning, EQ, compression, spatial effects, distortion,

"All of these reasons, if you really go into them and break them down are either entirely false statements, but most importantly based on fear. Fear has played a really important role in my life the last 6 months. Mainly in that I am learning to embrace the fear and see it as a compass. Anything I am scared of likely means that there will be something growthful or awesome on the otherside of it. It's such a cliche but in my experience it's also completely true. "
Fear. It's something that hounds all of us to varying degrees at different times in our lives. It's been with me heaps lately. Here's my ruminations on it and hopefully some strategies you will find useful in moving through it!

Here's a great little video on how to set systems to help you get closer to your goals.
Set Systems Not Goals
So this is a post completely inspired (read ripped) from a really interesting Youtube video a friend of mine sent me. It provides a really interesting perspective on how best to use and set goals, as well as a framework that allows you to take action and get positive feedback every step of t

Good sessions this week, helping people get past their creative blocks!! 'Unburied' a beautiful song from a bloated mix and arrangement, helped one student make use of all those presets that never seem any good with some contextual workflow techniques, built a whole bunch of variations super fast to bring energy and interest to a stale tune and looked at creating working habits everyday to keep those creative juices flowing!
