There are literacy and numeracy intervention tutoring places available in 2023 in school or online.

I offer specialist intervention services for students with learning impairments or difficulties in reading, writing, comprehending, spelling, grammar and mathematics.

If you want a well trained tutor, I suggest contacting the Dyslexia SPELD Foundation. They have a pool of teachers across Perth trained in intervention literacy and numeracy. Each tutor is required to write a report at the end of the semester which is reviewed by DSF. You receive support from DSF staff and can borrow from their library.

DSF’s Tune in to the Sounds of English resources are now available to download for free from https://dsf.net.au/home-resources

These resources are particularly useful for building phonemic awareness and spelling skills. There are two versions of the Have a Go Spelling Pad and the Sounds Sheet – one for younger students and one for older students – as well as a comprehensive Spelling Rules and Grammar booklet. There is also a great video which demonstrates how to use the resources.
