Shinkyokushin karate is a traditional Japanese martial art. Wollongong dojo Shihan John Hall, 5th Dan Shin translates to new.
Shinkyokushin Karate Wollongong Dojo is a member, as are its students, of the World Karate Organisation (Shinkyokushin). We are a traditional Japanese style of karate and train the way it was intended by Sosai Mas Oyama. We are a new organisation training in the old traditional way. Our organisation is growing and developing with a mandate to produce only the finest of Karateka.

100 fight challenge hosted by Artarmon Yahiro Dojo was on today. Wollongong dojo participants, Shihan John, Sensei Jacob, Senpai Amanda, Senpai Mitch, Sophia, Jin, Mackenzie, Tshewang and Iourie all completed the challenge.

Karate is great for kids. It builds fitness and confidence. Kids classes are Tuesdays and Thursdays 5.30pm to 6.30pm.

We are very proud of the Wollongong Dojo team who competed at the WKO Shinkyokushin NSW Championships Saturday 30/5/26. The support and team spirit was outstanding. Fighters making their debut - Jin 1st, Tara 3rd and fighting spirit award, Paul 3rd, Wanyu 3rd. The rest of the team results - Sophia 1st (3 weekends in a row 3 wins) Sienna 1st/3rd, Mackenzie 1st, Tshewang 2nd, Connor 3rd, Zahlia 3rd.
