Our Trainee, Tayla recently attended the Yarn ‘N’ Grow workshop, where she gained invaluable insights from former NRL player Willie Tonga. His journey highlighted that true happiness and purpose often come from simple connections, reminding us all to embrace our experiences and face challenges head-on.

🌟 Need a Lift to Study or Work?🌟

Oxley Community Transport may be able to help! If you’re an apprentice, trainee, TAFE NSW student, or a registered training organisation student who needs assistance getting around, we’re here for you.

This initiative will benefit people living in Tamworth and the Liverpool Plains!

Oxley Community Transport is part of a new trial aimed at providing transport to help eligible individuals in regional NSW get to study, training, or work.

The Tamworth Local Aboriginal Land Council, AECG, Gomeroi and the University of Newcastle have teamed up to launch a new Study Centre, which is due to commence on Monday, 10 August at the University of Newcastle Department of Rural Health. For Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students in Years 10, 11 and 12 who may be interested in receiving some additional support
Together, they will be providing a culturally safe and supportive space where students can access assistance with:

• School assessments and assignments
• SBAT coursework and assessments
• Job applications and resumes
• Career planning and post-school pathways
• Mentoring and wellbeing support
• Driver licence support (L's, Hazard Perception and P's)
• General study support and guidance

To make it as accessible as possible, transport can be provided from school to the Study Centre, afternoon tea, and transport home afterwards.

Kootingal Moonbi Junior Rugby League Football Club, Werris Creek Junior Rugby League Club, Dungowan Cowboys rugby league club, Manilla Minor Junior Rugby League, North Tamworth Bears Junior Club, Collegians Junior Rugby League Club - Tamworth, Rachael Phillips

Join us this Saturday, 8th August, as Tamworth District Minor League proudly joins NSW Rugby League in celebrating Indigenous Round for the very first time.

This is a special opportunity for our community to come together to recognise, celebrate and honour the rich cultures, histories and contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples through the game we all love.

📅 Saturday, 8th August
🖌️ 8:00am – Face Painting
🔥 8:20am – 8:30am – Smoking Ceremony
🎤 8:30am - 8:35am - Welcome to Country
💃 8:35am – 8:45am – Traditional Dance Performance (everyone is warmly invited to attend)
🏉 9:00am – First games kick off

We encourage everyone to wear your Indigenous jerseys, shirts or colours and join us in celebrating this historic milestone for TDML.

Let's come together as one community to celebrate culture, connection and rugby league. We look forward to sharing this special day with all our players, families, volunteers and supporters.
