Shore encourages past, present and future students, families, friends and staff to interact with the School through our online channels. You are invited to share your thoughts, news and experiences. By following the guidelines below, all members of our online community will feel welcome and valued. RESPECTFUL – it is important that all members of the community are treated with dignity and respect. Please don’t use hostile or obscene language, or make negative comments about students, families, staff at the school, or decisions by the School. This is a page for supportive conversations and is not a forum for debating controversial or personal issues. FAMILY-FRIENDLY – our social media pages have users that are under 18 years of age. Explicit language and images have no place here. RELEVANT – please stick to the topic of discussion. Off-topic personal conversations that have little relevance to the post should stay on personal accounts. NON-COMMERCIAL – Shore does not accept posts of a commercial nature on our social media pages and these will be deleted. LEGAL – please be aware of copyright laws, intellectual property rights and privacy law when posting, sharing and commenting. The School will delete posts and comments that contain discriminatory or defamatory posts that relate to ethnicity, religion, gender, disability, sexual orientation or belief; or that encourage illegal activity. CHOIR The Sound of Success. At Choir Camp, members of the Shore Choir recorded three songs at a professional recording studio and worked with several outstanding guest artists and educators including TaikOz, singer and Old Boy Mr Hugh Francis ('85) and Composer and singer Ms Ruth McCall. Thank you to Mr Massey for organising this wonderful opportunity for the students.

THROWBACK THURSDAY Did you know the Higher School Certificate (HSC) was first introduced in 1967, replacing the Leaving Certificate as part of the Wyndham Scheme?
That year, around 18,000 students sat the inaugural HSC examinations. In 2026, more than 84,000 students are undertaking the HSC across New South Wales.
While much has changed, some traditions remain. Just as it was in 1949, English is still the first exam on the timetable. And at Shore, the completion of that first English paper continues to be a milestone worth celebrating.
After the exam, students are invited to enjoy an ice cream generously provided by the Newling family in memory of Christopher Newling, a much-loved Shore student who passed away in 2002. It is a special tradition that marks the beginning of the HSC journey and reflects the enduring care and community spirit that are such an important part of Shore life.

CLASS OF 2026 Your journey to this point has been shaped by hard work, perseverance, friendship and growth. As you embark on your first exam today, remember that the HSC is an important milestone, but it is only one part of the story. The character you have demonstrated during your years at Shore will remain your greatest measure of success.

We are delighted to congratulate the 11 Shore students who have been nominated for possible inclusion in SHAPE 2027, one of the NSW HSC Showcase exhibitions celebrating outstanding Major Projects in Design and Technology, Industrial Technology and Textiles and Design. A SHAPE nomination is in itself a significant achievement, recognising projects that demonstrate exceptional creativity, innovation, technical skill and problem-solving.

Shore has been selected as an Outdoor Training Venue for Men's Rugby World Cup Australia 2027.

The selection reflects the sustained work undertaken over recent years to develop and maintain high-quality sporting facilities for the Shore community.

Shore is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Stuart McCormack as Deputy Headmaster.

Mr McCormack has served as Shore’s Head of Students since January 2024 and brings more than two decades of experience in independent education, with particular strength in student wellbeing, pastoral care, learning and leadership.

As the Headmaster’s delegated second-in-charge, he will work across the whole School to strengthen leadership coherence, daily operations and the student experience from the Early Learning Centre to Year 12.

“It is a privilege to serve the Shore community in this new role. I look forward to working with students and partnering with staff and families as we build on the School’s strong foundations and help every student thrive,” Mr McCormack said.

ATHLETICS Outstanding performances, remarkable determination and true Shore spirit were on display at the 130th AAGPS Athletics Championships.
The highlight of the meet came from Henry, who claimed the U16 110m Hurdles Championship title in a winning time of 15.23 seconds. Shore athletes also secured multiple Championship podium finishes across the hurdles, jumps, middle-distance and relay events, showcasing the depth and strength of the program.
Among the standout performers were Jude, Hunter and Harry, who each earned Championship silver medals, while a further six Shore athletes and relay teams collected Championship bronze. The Open 4x100m Relay team of Henry, Jeremy, Noah and Oscar produced a thrilling performance to finish 3rd, missing the Shore school record by just one hundredth of a second.
Across the day, our athletes demonstrated resilience, versatility and commitment, with many competing in multiple events while continuing Shore's proud tradition of excellence in athletics.
Congratulations to all athletes, coaches and staff on a tremendous Championships campaign and best wishes to those representing Shore at the NSW All Schools Championships this weekend.
