⭐ Kindy Orientation 2027 ⭐

Today, we held our first Kindy 2027 Orientation session! Our future students got to come inside our Kindergarten classrooms and explore what their big school will look like for next year.

We coloured in some amazing crowns and wore them them proudly around the classroom as we played together with our new friends. Despite the rainy weather, there were smiles all round. We are so proud of you all!

Yesterday, two speakers from Guide Dogs Australia visited the school to:
🐾 explain what the organisation does
🐾 share important considerations when near a guide dog or meeting a blind person
🐾 relate their talk to the characters in August & Jones, a book featuring an eleven-year-old girl who suffers from vision loss that Year 5 are currently studying.

Students found the talk extremely engaging and could have kept listening and asking questions all day long!

Thank you so much for Guide Dogs Australia for coming out and spending the day with Year 5.

K-6 Art Pod students went on an excursion today and visited the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia!

We were introduced to contemporary Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander art and even got a chance to create a collective artwork as a group. It was a culturally enriching experience and our students were so engaged with the knowledge that the museum guides imparted on them.

Luckily the rain held out until the very end and we were able to enjoy our day in the city!

A huge thank you to Kate and The Arts Unit Mural in a Day program, who spent Tuesday and Wednesday at SNPS working alongside our Year 6 students to create this incredible mural!

The mural celebrates the three community languages taught at SNPS, Italian, Chinese and Korean, represented through a wolf, panda and tiger respectively.

The finished mural will soon be proudly displayed on the stairs leading up to our library, adding a bright and meaningful piece of artwork to our school.

Today, we celebrate the incredible dads and father figures who inspire, guide, and shape the next generation! ❤️

SNPS honored these everyday heroes with a joyful assembly and a sun-kissed picnic, surrounded by loved ones. This special day recognises not only the fathers but also the selfless individuals who make a profound impact on our students' lives. 🌞

Our talented K-6 choir stole the show with their first ever performance with a rendition of 'Gary Galah' and we are so proud of their efforts! Well done 🎉
