This is what self-abandonment can look like ⬆️
It’s saying yes when you’re exhausted.
It’s putting your needs last because everyone else’s seem more important.
It’s constantly giving, even when you have nothing left.
It’s feeling guilty for resting when there’s still something to be done.
And the hardest part? Sometimes we become so accustomed to operating this way that we don’t even realise how much of ourselves we’ve lost in the process.
But mumma, you matter too 🤍
You are allowed to have needs.
You are allowed to ask for help.
You are allowed to rest without earning it.
You are allowed to take up space in your own life.
And to the partners reading this, don’t just ask her why she’s moody. Ask her how she’s really feeling. Look at what she’s carrying. Step up, share the load and remind her that she doesn’t have to do everything alone.
Because the goal isn’t for her to become better at coping with everything.
Sometimes, the goal is to stop expecting her to carry everything in the first place.
Let’s stop glorifying the woman who can do it all and start supporting the woman who shouldn’t have to.
