⛳️ Congratulations, Jonathan! ⛳️

Congratulations to our Year 6 student, Jonathan, on his selection to represent MacKillop at the NSWPSSA Golf Championships in Tamworth next week.

Jonathan earned his place after representing Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese at the recent NSW Catholic Primary Schools Golf Championships in Blackheath. He will now compete against the best primary school golfers from across New South Wales.

This is a fantastic achievement, and we are incredibly proud of Jonathan. We wish him the very best of luck in Tamworth! 🏌️‍♂️🏆

Year 1 are back and better than ever! 🎉
We jumped straight into our Term 3 learning, engaging in our InitialLit small group activities and working on our reading fluency, digraph focuses, spelling tricky words, and so much more! It’s been a fantastic start to the term, and we’re excited for all the learning ahead! 📚✨

Together is Better!

Kindergarten had a fantastic afternoon gathering with their Year 6 buddies for games, teamwork and lots of fun! Through these special moments of connection and friendship, our youngest learners are beginning to explore what it means to gather—a wonderful introduction to their Religious Education learning about gathering as the Church. ✝️

Today we arrived at school in our pyjamas to raise awareness about the reality of homelessness in our society. Led by FIAT, we explored ways we can support those who are finding the winter season particularly difficult. We exercised our head, hearts and hands and donated tin foods for those less fortunate. We explored that homelessness can mean more than just being away from a physical home. We pray for those suffering today and hope a simple, but mighty warm meal will reach their tummy and hearts. ❤️

✨ Putting Faith into Action ✨

Our Kindergarten students have been learning about what it means to love their neighbour and show kindness to others. Today, they put their faith into action by creating beautiful sparkly wands for staff around our school!

Each wand carried the special message: “You make our school shine.” 🌟

With big smiles and generous hearts, our students delivered their gifts to staff who help make our school such a wonderful place to learn and grow.

We are so proud of our Kindergarten students for spreading joy, showing gratitude and living out the values of love and kindness in such a meaningful way.✝️❤️

Our students had a fantastic time enjoying today’s Special Treat Day with delicious pizza and drinks! 😋🥤

A big thank you to our wonderful Kinder Mums for helping organise and serve everything. Your support helped make the day extra special for our students. ❤️

❤️ On the eve of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, our Stage 3 students took part in a meaningful Vinnies Winter Immersion experience, reflecting on Christ’s call to love, compassion and service.

Through prayer, eating simple foods, preparing sandwiches for those experiencing homelessness, and listening to the powerful story of a Vinnies guest speaker, students gained a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by many in our community.

As evening approached, students used simple recycled materials such as cardboard to create makeshift shelters, offering a small glimpse into the reality of sleeping rough.

This immersive experience encouraged empathy, gratitude and a commitment to living out the values of the Sacred Heart through acts of kindness and service to others. ❤️
