Angelina has shared her love of gardening this year and passed her passion onto many students in younger grades. She has shown great leadership as she has nurtured the vegepods 🥒🌽🫑and inspired other students to become actively involved in caring for our garden. 💦💧Thanks to all of the students who have contributed to our wonderful gardens. 🪴🌴🌳🌿

For their Christmas🤶🧑‍🎄 STEM challenge Year 3 joined together to create⚒🪚 the tallest Christmas tree 🎄 that would remain standing when a 🌟star⭐️ was added to the top. Look at their results. 10 out of 10 for effort Year 3!💚💛

Year 5 enjoyed being challenged with designing and producing the highest shelf that would support an elf🧑‍🎄 or two.🧑‍🎄🤶 🎄The results varied but all students enjoyed working together to design and produce some interesting looking shelves.💚💛

Year 2 were challenged with designing the tallest paper bag Christmas tree 🎄 during their 🤶🎅 STEM 🪚🛠 day. If it remained standing with one star ⭐️ on it they would earn points equivalent to 💯 times the height of their tree. If the tree 🎄 remained standing with 2 stars ⭐️🌟 they their points would equal 200 times the height📏 of the tree.🎄 Of course if the tree fell over they received no points!0️⃣
Which tree do you think was the winning tree?

St Patrick's annual Christmas STEM activities commenced last week with Year Six. They were set the task of designing a catapult that Santa 🎅🤶🧑‍🎄could use to launch presents 🎁 into the chimney🏠 rather than having to deliver them himself.
They worked in small teams to design and produce a variety of catapults. 🛠🪚 Which one do you think was the winning catapult?

A little bit of 💦 play to cool us down before we head back home. Don’t worry 🧑 mums and 👨 dads we will be dry in no time today. 🌞
Lunch and then a bus trip home will be a lovely way to end our time at 🏕️ camp together.

💚❤️Its beginning to look a lot like Christmas! ✝️And what have we done? We came together this afternoon and celebrated the joy of Christmas. Kindy and Year six reminded us about Christmas being a time we gather together and celebrate. They also said it is a time where our hearts may be changed by the gift of grace. Year 5 spoke to us about Jesus, who was sent to save us!💚❤️
Year 4 took us on a journey to Bethlehem where there is a King in a manger and we joined the angels ✨ singing, "peace on Earth, good will to men..." While Year 3 recalled the roll of the shepherds who left with without delay and found baby Jesus lying in the hay. 🌠
Year 2 helped us remember Jesus is the most important gift.🎁 He was born so that we might live. Jesus rules the world with truth and grace and we are asked to show this to others on earth, as Year 1 prayerfully sang today.
May we continue to celebrate God's love this Christmas and always. ✨🫶🥰🙏🎅🧑‍🎄🎉🤶🎄

Our wonderful choir, led by Ms Chifley, helped spread hope, joy and love at the annual Advent festival on Friday Night. 🧑‍🎄🤶
it was a wonderful way to stop and reflect on the importance of Advent as we prepare for Christmas.🎄🎅 Pope Francis emphasises the importance of vigilance at his Sunday Angelus, highlighting this does not mean living in fear, but rather waiting in loving anticipation of Jesus' arrival.✝️
May we continue to be vigilant during this Advent season. 💜💜❤️💜

Father Tom has been welcomed into our classrooms this term. He has engaged the students through his stories of faith and knowledge of our Catholic Faith and Traditions. We are so lucky to have him as a mentor for our students. ✝️
Year 5 and 6 learnt a lot about their faith community and what it means to be a member of our church in a recent visit. ⛪️

Congratulations to the students who represented our school at the gymnastics 🤸‍♀️🤸🤸‍♂️competition on Friday.
They successfully completed, forward rolls, cartwheels and handstands amongst other moves that showed off their skill and flexibility. No doubt they impressed the judges as much as they did Ms Chan and the parents watching on.
Great work everyone

Mrs Cadman, Mrs Carroll and the environment team are doing an outstanding job sharing their love of nature.🥒🥬🍍🍒🫑
Mrs Cadman is slowly introducing the students to the new vegetable pods. Recently Year 2's visited the pods and experienced the joy of nature and growing your own crops.🥑🥦🥬
We also launched our feed😁 the worms 🪱🪱 program. The environment team are collecting banana skins🍌 and apple cores 🍎 to feed to our worms. 🪱We can't wait to fertilise our vegetables🥕🍆🌽 with the 'worm juice' and improve our soils with 'worm castings'.

Animals, animals everywhere!🦘🦓🦍🦘
What makes an animal a living thing? 🐻🐨🐧
Are reptiles really cold blooded or are they endothermic?🦎🐍
Can you describe the external features of a living thing? 🐒
If you are having any problem answering these questions then you should talk to our Year 3 students🕵️‍♀️, as they spent the day at Sydney Zoo 🐪🦓🦒 learning all about living things in the animal kingdom. 🐅🐆🦛

Our Vision

St Patrick’s is located in Parramatta, close to the business centre and mainly draws on students from Parramatta, parts of North Parramatta and Oatlands. A number of Catholic families working in the Parramatta area also access the school. The school serves the parish of St Patrick's Cathedral Parramatta. There are currently fourteen classes of boys and girls from Kindergarten to Year 6 and over 90 per cent of students come from a non-English speaking background.

Our vision is to be a child-centred faith community within an innovative, interactive learning environment. We endeavour to celebrate each other’s uniqueness by providing opportunity for all and to develop a culture that identifies that the journey towards excellence is often paved with trial and error, risk taking, learning from mistakes, flexibility and adaptability. We believe that encouraging students to take ownership of the learning is critical in achieving the best learning outcomes and that implicit in this concept is that students learn to identify their own areas of strength and areas of development through useful and explicit feedback.
