Q: How do the Kumon worksheets help develop my child’s pencil grip?
A: Your child will be introduced to holding and using a pencil or crayon in a fun way. Kumon uses a combination of colouring and drawing exercises, which incorporate drawing straight and curved lines. As your child progresses, the worksheets guide your child to draw on narrower lines, requiring their writing to become more controlled. The illustrations tell a story that helps to maintain your child’s interest.

Q: How can I support my child to establish a daily Kumon routine?
A: Set aside 30 minutes of 'Kumon time' each day to ensure your child has time to study. With your child, choose a study space that is free from distractions, to become their regular Kumon space at home. This allows them to concentrate and supports their daily study routine. Show enthusiasm and interest in your child’s daily study, which is an excellent way to provide motivation.
Kumon worksheets are also designed for early learners. Our English programme begins with word recognition, letter sounds and letter writing. There are also worksheets that develop the ability to use a pencil.
