As we successfully complete week 4 of our new year it is extremely pleasing to see how our 15 new boarders have settled and mixed socially with those who have returned. Booth House has a very warm and happy family oriented feeling with the blend and mix of all our staff and students working together. There have been a number of significant cosmetic changes and upgrades to ensure comfort and a modern appearance for our Booth House family.
I extend a warm welcome to all families and past boarding students to make a visit and catch up with staff and boarders. Our doors are always open to those who have been a part of the unique experience that Booth House has to offer.
Best wishes and warm regards
Bruce H Keys
Head of Boarding.

Booth House Cup
It's not about the GGs
It's not about the Cup
It's not about the champers
Or making a quick buck
It's all about WAS Raceday
The fashion and the food
The fine Ladies and the Gentlemen
Who all live down in Booth

Pink Stumps Day through the eyes of Jon Grant
What could be more Australian than two teams of roughly 11 people of all shapes, ages and sporting ability getting together for a cricket match? The second annual Whitsunday Anglican School Pink Stumps Day was held on Saturday the 23rd of July, and continued the celebration of this great tradition.
Principal, Mrs Maria McIvor, had assembled a powerful team but this was well-matched by the Boarders IX, capably lead by Head of Boarding, Mr Bruce Keys. Following the disappointing washout caused by the deluge of the previous weekend, conditions were perfect.
McIvor’s Heroes were all out for 66 with one over to spare and Keys’ Champions responded bravely to be 57 with six deliveries to come and no wickets in hand. Booth House Captain, Billie Ward, looked like the saviour for the Boarders but she could not find the boundary – if only she could bat like she can throw a discus!!!! The Boarders fell a few runs short and the Principal’s XII kept the trophy for another year.
Well done to all participants. Thanks particularly to the past boarders, Joe Howie, Dudley Faust and Lachlan Jimmy McDonald for making the effort to be there. We hope you can make it again next year.
Thanks to all involved on the day from the players to the caterers and the manager of the corporate box. The money raised will go to a very worthy cause.

Our "Christmas in July" Dinner was a wonderfully successful evening with so many boarders assisting with the organisation and setting up for the occasion. It was a pleasure to have Mrs Mclvor attend and enjoy the wonderful spirit of our boarding family.
