St Joseph's Catholic Primary School North Mackay

What a fabulous end to our CEW celebrations and events, with our 2026 school musical. Since our auditions in Term 1, students from Prep to Year 6 have been working hard to learn lines, rehearse choreography and memorise blocking for our school musical “Pirates of the Curry Bean”. It has been wonderful to witness how so many students have fully committed to the experience and really thrived.

The musical was absolutely amazing! Huge shout out to Mrs Schmid for her brainstorm of this great idea, and her team of staff and families who helped ensure that everything ran smoothly. As a school, we applaud both Julianne and the team and thank them for their dedication and enthusiasm.

Productions such as this remind us of the power of community. When we work together, share our talents and support one another, we create opportunities that our children will remember long after the final curtain falls. Thank you to everyone who has contributed in big and small ways. The success of this production belongs to all of us and is a wonderful reflection of the teamwork, dedication and spirit that make our school community so special.

Happy 90th Birthday, St Joseph's!

As part of our Catholic Education Week celebrations, we were excited to mark a very special milestone in the history of our school, 90 years of St Joseph's Catholic Primary School.

This morning, students, staff, parents and special guests gathered for a beautiful Celebrating 90 Years Prayer Service, giving thanks for the rich history, faith and traditions that have shaped St Joseph's over the past nine decades. We were especially honoured to welcome Sr Kerry and Sr Marise, whose presence helped us acknowledge the significant contribution of the Sisters of Mercy to Catholic education and the life of our school.

Our dress rehearsal was outstanding, and tonight’s performance will be full of energy, laughs, and plenty of pirate chaos. Join us at 7pm in the St Joseph’s School Hall for a fantastic evening.

Wow! What a fab week! Yesterday, our Year 6 leaders did a fabulous job of leading their peer buddies, from Prep to Year 5, in some fun activities to celebrate CEW. Today, they all played birthday party games to celebrate our school being 90 years. How lucky are we to have such great Year 6 school leaders!
