A big thank you to Miss Lucy and Miss Gypsy. ❤️
Both were at the Feis before we even started, helping get things ready and supporting our Beginner dancers through the morning.
They took our Jump23 dancers onto the big stage, counted them in and helped make such an exciting moment feel safe and special.
Through the afternoon, even while waiting for their own turn to dance, they were still intently watching their Primary and Intermediate students, giving praise, encouragement and support all day.
In class, they’ve talked with dancers about nerves, how to work through fears and how to set goals, and it was so lovely to see that support continue on Feis day.
Our dancers are so lucky to have you both. ❤️

Tomorrow’s the day!
One final reminder before we see you all at the feis …
Always be kind to others, but don’t forget to be kind to yourself too.
If something doesn’t go to plan tomorrow, remember what we’ve been talking about in class…
Smile.
Keep going.
Speak to yourself the way you would speak to your best friend or one of your teammates. Show yourself the same kindness, encouragement and grace that you’d so freely give someone else.
Encourage every dancer. Encourage yourself.
Celebrate everyone’s achievements. Celebrate your achievements.
Let’s fill the hall with smiles, encouragement and applause, and make it a day every dancer is proud to be part of.
Travel safely, get a good night’s sleep and we’ll see you tomorrow!

One week to go!
This time next week we’ll be welcoming dancers, teachers and families from Queensland, the Northern Territory, New South Wales and Victoria to the 2026 Mackay WIDA Feis.
For many of our dancers, this will be their only competition of the year. Irish dancing is about so much more than competitions, but our local feis is always something special. It’s a goal to work towards, an opportunity to perform on stage, and a chance to see just how much you’ve improved since the last one.
Some dancers will be stepping onto the stage for the very first time, while others have danced at many feiseanna before. No matter where you are on your Irish dancing journey, we hope you leave with wonderful memories, new friendships, growing confidence, and a sense of pride in everything you’ve achieved.
We’re looking forward to catching up with familiar faces, welcoming new ones, celebrating our Irish dance community, and sharing the culture we all love.

Wishing all our Jump’n Jig families a lovely start back to kindy, daycare and new routines this week!
We know this time of year can be full of big changes for little people, so dance classes won’t begin until next week, giving everyone time to settle back in first.
We’ve missed our little dancers and can’t wait to hear about holiday adventures, see how much they’ve grown, and watch them reconnect with their dance friends in class.
👉 Don’t forget to enrol for Jump’n Jig in 2026 if you haven’t already, or send us a message if you need help choosing the right class.
