🔬💦 Science Week Fun: Sink or Float? 💦🔬

This week, our little scientists have been busy making predictions, testing ideas, and exploring the exciting world of sinking and floating!

Using a variety of everyday objects, the children investigated questions such as: 🤔 Will it sink? 🤔 Will it float? 🤔 Why did that happen?

There were plenty of surprises along the way as children shared their theories, tested their ideas, and discovered that science is all about being curious and having a go!

Through this hands-on experience, children were developing their critical thinking, problem-solving skills, communication, and understanding of early scientific concepts while having lots of fun splashing and experimenting. 🌊✨

Why not continue the investigation at home? Grab a container of water and a few household items and see if your family can predict which objects will sink and which will float!

🚨🔥 Fire Drill in Action Today! 🔥🚨

As part of our monthly safety practice, we completed our fire drill with the children and educators. The children did an amazing job listening, following directions, and moving calmly to our safe meeting point 👏

While it might feel like a big adventure for the children, these regular drills play a really important role in keeping everyone safe. Practicing each month helps our team stay calm and confident, and supports children to become familiar with what to do in a safe, supported way, so there are no surprises if we ever needed to respond in a real emergency.

We’re so proud of how capable and cooperative everyone was 💛 Safety is always our top priority!🚒👩‍🚒

🍓❤️June was berry berry exciting at Discovery Drive ❤️🍓

This month, we explored everything there is to love about strawberries!
From discovering what they look ,smell, and feel like, to the best part of all… tasting them!

Our little learners investigated:
🌱 How strawberries grow
☀️ Where they grow
🚜 How they make their journey from the farm to our plates 🍽️

Through our Owlberts Healthy Habits Program, children are building an understanding of where food comes from, how it grows, and why making healthy food choices is so important—all through fun, hands-on learning and exploration 🔍.
