World Environment Day 2026, June 5. We pause to reflect on the impact our choices have on the planet. It is estimated that by 2050 there will be more plastic in the ocean than fish. To raise awareness about this global issue, our Environment Club expressed themselves through art and showcased their work. Their work highlights how young people can use their voices and talents to care for our common home.

Our Year 8 and 9 Vietnamese students were inspired by three outstanding Vietnamese-Australian leaders: Cr Khuyen (Quin) Tran, University Lecturer and Councillor; Dr Jana Le, Psychologist; and Ms Thuy An Lam, Systems Engineer, who generously shared their stories of leadership, culture, and community.
Student reflections revealed a powerful impact. Many who had previously questioned the value of learning Vietnamese or felt disconnected from their heritage left feeling proud of their cultural identity and motivated to continue learning languages.
Students also gained a deeper understanding that women can lead and succeed in many different fields. Thank you to our guest speakers for inspiring our future leaders!

Our Year 5 and 6 'STEM4Good' program promotes STEM learning through authentic, real-world challenges. Students explore how they can make a difference by designing a service, product or innovation that responds to a need in the community.
Using Catholic Social Teaching (CST) as their lens, students were challenged to create solutions that improve the lives of others and contribute to the common good.
From the Funky Fidget Watch, Modus Vision, Pollution Pal and Calming Scents to The Fluent Flow Kit, students showcased a range of innovative ideas. Their creativity, empathy and problem-solving skills were on full display as they demonstrated how STEM can be a powerful force for positive change.

Inspired by the life and witness of Saint Dominic and grounded in the person of Jesus Christ, here in Australia, the first Dominican Sisters stepped on to an ancient sacred land as the Holy Spirit was breathing new life into their Dominican story.
10 years ago, a new chapter began. Dominican Education Australia was established as a public juridic person of the Catholic Church and entrusted with carrying forward and expanding the rich legacy of Catholic education in the Dominican tradition that was pioneered by the Sisters. This moment marked not an ending but a transformation, a shared mission where religious and lay partners work together to continue the work of preaching the Gospel through education.

Halfway through Year 12 calls for a celebration! To mark the halfway point, we surprised our Class of 2026 with a waffle van and silent disco to celebrate all they have achieved so far.
Well done to our Year 12s for the leadership, spirit, and positivity you have shown throughout the year. We are halfway there, and we can’t wait to see what the rest of the year brings!
