School photos are coming up next Monday, August 24. Envelopes for ordering will be sent home today with your child. If you wish to purchase any photos, you can do so online at www.nqsp.com.au or at the School Office anytime this week. On photo day, we will only be taking orders between 8:00-9:00am at the office. If purchasing at the office, it is cash only. Please bring the correct money as we do not have change. There is no option for EFTPOS at the office.

Normanton State School P&C Cent Sale
Thank you to the staff, parents and community members who gave of their time on Sunday morning to set up the Cent Sale. Many hands make light work.
The Cent Sale tickets will be on sale at the Shire Hall this week from Monday to Thursday, 3pm - 5pm. The fete and Cent Sale draw will be on Friday evening, from 5pm.
Thank you to the community for the donation of prizes for the Cent Sale.

Our Last Day at QIMR - Thank you for this great experience!
To finish up our time at QIMR the students started their day by going on a tour of the animal house, followed by the mosquito facility where students got to watch the mosquitos being fed. Students then received a presentation from Dr Villani about Molecular Cancer Epidemiology, and the genetics behind breast cancer. Students then moved into the functional Cancer Genomics and completed a series of laboratory tests to determine if the sample given to them tested positive to Cancer. This Laboratory work was facilitated by Ms Sneha Nair and Ms Lucy Ock.
This concludes our time with QIMR. The students have learnt and experienced some amazing things from experts in their fields.
We thank Professor Katja Fischer and her team from the QIMR Berghofer and Mr Quadrio for their efforts in organising this experience for our Normanton State School Students.

School Fete
The Normanton State School Parents and Citizens Association would like to thank all who have donated to the Cent Sale and who are supporting our fete.
If you are still to bring in your donation please do so by Friday afternoon.
The Cent Sale will be set up in the Shire Hall and tickets will be on sale from 3pm until 5pm next week Monday to Thursday, and from 5pm on Friday evening at the fete. Prizes will be drawn after 8pm on Friday evening.

👨‍👩‍👧 Children attending from Kindy will be supervised by their teachers during the visit. Adults and carers accompanying their child are asked to supervise their own child throughout the visit.
