Carly (widening participation), Eva (engagement) and Erika (centre manager) just attended a National Conference for Regional, Remote and Rural Education.

We met people from Unis, study hubs, schools and government from all around regional Australia to share and learn about how to increase access to education in our communities.

We heard some incredible stories of challenge and triumph and can’t wait to come home and implement everything we learned.

A very interesting report was published this week about the unique challenges faced by part-time students in Australia.

Title: Is the problem us? Helping part-time students succeed in a full-time world.

“They don’t care what you have had to juggle just to turn up to class, and that’s the tricky thing with part-time study … We are treated like we are less committed, when it’s the opposite, we are on average a lot more committed.”

Last semester, 43% of students at our Centre were studying part-time, so we're very familiar with these challenges and do everything we can to support those students balancing a multitude of things alongside their studies.
