Even more exciting — our scores for effective feedback have improved by an incredible 21% since last year!

Thanks to the honest feedback from our students via the NSW Public School Survey and our own assessments, we know that outstanding teaching is making a real difference in inspiring excellence throughout our school.

Newcastle Discovery Day STEM Excursion

Our Stage 3 students had a fantastic day at the Newcastle Discovery Day STEM excursion, putting their thinking skills to the test through a range of hands on STEM challenges!

Joining our Stage 3 teams were a select group of Stage 1 and Stage 2 students identified as high potential and gifted learners in the Intellectual Domain, giving these students an exciting opportunity to extend their learning alongside our older students.

Throughout the day, students worked collaboratively to problem solve, think creatively, experiment with ideas and persevere when things didn’t quite work the first time. There was plenty of brain stretching, teamwork and learning through trial and error as students tackled each new challenge.

It was wonderful to see students across the stages working together, sharing ideas and challenging their thinking. A fabulous day of STEM, teamwork, creativity and problem solving!

Our U/12s had a fantastic day at the Newcastle Knights League Stars Challenge!

There were plenty of cheers, great teamwork and lots of fun throughout the day. A great experience for everyone involved!

Our students truly feel safe, supported, and connected — and it shows! In the 2026 NSW Public School Survey, NWPS students scored above the state average in every wellbeing area, including ‘Absence of bullying’, ‘Connectedness’, ‘Safety and support’, ‘Sense of belonging’, ‘Supportive adult at school’, and ‘Transitions’.
