Our Year 8 Performance Plus students recently took part in an exciting excursion to Scitech, where they engaged in a range of interactive and thought‑provoking experiences. Highlights included the Planetarium show, the Rio Tinto Central: Sky’s the Limit workshop, a dynamic Science Theatre show, and exploring the general exhibitions.
This experience has helped deepen their understanding of science and innovation, providing valuable inspiration for their project to design a health and wellbeing prototype, where they will apply their learning to create practical and creative solutions.

🎉 What an incredible day at our Year 9 Lightning Carnival!

Our Year 9 students brought their A-game across basketball, soccer, netball, and floorball, filling the day with energy, teamwork, and plenty of school spirit. It was fantastic to see so many students getting involved and cheering each other on. A huge shoutout to our soccer girls who took home the win - absolutely brilliant effort, ladies! 🏆⚽

Well done to all students who participated and represented our school with such enthusiasm. We couldn’t be prouder! 💙

Over the past few weeks, our Year 7 Performance Plus students have been actively engaged in a range of exciting learning experiences. From their visit to City Farm, to participating in team‑building activities, and an insightful incursion from Zonta focusing on equity and inclusion, students have been building important collaboration and awareness skills.

These experiences have lead into their group project, where students have applied their learning to design a sustainable suburb using Minecraft, combining creativity, teamwork and real‑world thinking.

For the fifth consecutive year, the Morley Leos proudly took part in World Vision’s 40 Hour Famine, continuing their commitment to supporting children and families experiencing hunger and hardship around the world.

This year’s challenge encouraged students to experience what many young people living in poverty face every day - surviving on the equivalent of just $2 worth of food per day. For many participants, this meant limiting themselves to only two cups of noodles across the day, providing a powerful insight into the realities of food insecurity faced by millions globally.

Despite the challenge, students approached the famine with determination, empathy, and resilience. Throughout the 40 hours, they reflected on the importance of gratitude, compassion, and standing in solidarity with those less fortunate.

Funds raised from this year’s famine are currently being finalised, with all proceeds supporting World Vision’s work in providing emergency food assistance, clean water, education, and long-term community support programs.

Congratulations to the Morley Leos for once again demonstrating outstanding leadership, compassion, and commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of others.
