Have you experienced or witnessed sexist or misogynistic behaviour at your school?

A survey conducted by Monash University has reported that 78 percent of respondents observed or experienced sexism or misogyny in school, and one in three observed or experienced this frequently.

The report reccommends a sustained and ongoing response by governments, with a focus on with a workers rights to a safe work environment.

Difficult conversations with parents are an unavoidable part of a teacher's job. But how can educators be trained to prepare for intense situations?

Researchers at La Trobe University have developed Fletch, a robot 'parent', who mimics a disgruntled parent, allowing teachers to train for tricky interactions.

Fletch will initially be rolled out in schools across Melbourne, with hopes of expanding the research.

The robot mimics a disgruntled parent, and helps teachers to practise difficult conversations before confronting them in the workplace.

Proposed changes to teacher registration in the Northern Territory have attracted strong opposition from NT teachers.

In a bill expected to be debated in parliament this week, there are plans to merge the Teacher Registration Board and Board of Studies into one board, composed of seven handpicked ministerial appointees.

Opponents of the proposal say the move would compromise the independence of the teacher registration board, lower the standards of education in the NT and put the safety of children at risk. The Government says this is part of a wider regulatory modernisation agenda across the education sector.

Union's have labelled the bill rushed and risky, while the government says reforms support broader regulatory modernisation in the NT
