🎨 Celebrating Creativity and Children’s Voices 🎨

Today, we looked through each child’s floor book and celebrated their individual drawings, ideas and creativity. Each child had the opportunity to show their artwork and share the story or meaning behind their drawing, while their friends listened with genuine interest and encouragement.

Every child’s effort was acknowledged through warm praise, applause and positive reinforcement. By encouraging the children to draw whatever they imagined, we supported their creativity, self-expression, confidence and sense of identity.

We believe these experiences are important because children need to know that their ideas, perspectives and creative efforts are seen, heard and valued. Sharing their work helps children develop confidence in speaking to a group, express their thoughts and feelings, practise listening respectfully and recognise that everyone’s ideas can be different and equally meaningful.

Regularly celebrating children’s work also builds a strong sense of belonging and encourages a supportive classroom culture in which children feel proud of their own achievements and genuinely excited about the achievements of others. 💛

🌿 Learning Through Play at Kindy 🌿

Today, the children were invited to explore a wide variety of thoughtfully prepared provocations designed to inspire imagination, creativity, innovation, inquiry and open-ended play.

The children:

🚗 Sorted vehicles into land, sea and air categories
🌺 Investigated natural resources collected from the beautiful native plants on our property, asking questions about spotted leaves, seed pods and flowers
🎨 Expressed their creativity through painting and crayon drawing
🧱 Designed incredible buildings and spaces with LEGO
🧸 Became immersed in imaginative role play with dolls and teddies
🚢 Played Battleships outdoors
🦎 Pretended to be lizards “perched on rocks” as they balanced across the obstacle course, demonstrating confidence and developing strong gross motor skills

Indigenous-patterned puzzles were also available for quiet moments of mindfulness and self-regulation. It is wonderful to see the children beginning to recognise when they need a calm and focused experience.

We continue to support the children to take responsibility for their personal belongings, return resources after use, tidy their play spaces and show respect for the belongings of others.

Throughout each day, we also have meaningful conversations about our own wellbeing and the wellbeing of others. We discuss making healthy food choices, listening to educators, sharing, taking turns and interacting respectfully so that our Kindy classroom remains a peaceful, welcoming and safe place for everyone. 💛

🌟 Big News for Jellybabies Families! 🌟

From 5 January 2026, the Australian Government has introduced the 3-Day Guarantee, making early learning more accessible for families.

What does this mean for you?

👶 Every child eligible for the Child Care Subsidy (CCS) is now guaranteed at least 3 days (72 hours per fortnight) of subsidised early learning — even if families are not currently working, studying or volunteering.

At Jellybabies, we know how important consistency, connection and belonging are for young children. This change means more children can enjoy regular time in a nurturing, play-based learning environment, building friendships, confidence and strong foundations for life. 💚

✨ What families need to know:
• The activity test no longer applies for the first 3 subsidised days
• Families may still be eligible for more than 3 days of subsidised care, depending on their circumstances
• Normal enrolment processes and gap fees still apply

This is a positive step forward in supporting children, families and early learning — and we’re excited to continue partnering with you to give every child the best possible start. 🌈
