Noble Park High School

I don't know if I have posted this before, but this was Mr. Grills attending one of Igor's University graduations. He was as proud as punch!

Okay a couple of photos I found while clearing out today. Written on the back NPHS 1962/63. Igor Wendt is second top right, is that Bill Groves next to him. Lawrence Robert Martin middle third row and Bert Ummels under him. Anyone else know the others?

Just noticed a post on 'I Grew up in Noble Park' to make a note that on October 8th there will be a celebration for our school turning 60. For those of you who started high school in 1963 (or joined students of that year) this is right on the heels of that year’s school kids reunion from October 5 to 8th (leaving Moama) check out "Noble Park kids of 1950-51" page.

School camps. My first one was to Brisbane and the Gold Coast. Coolangatta. We went up on the train...tough gig but we loved it. Stayed over in Sydney. There was a train strike in Queensland and we could not come home. Anyone there with me? Next one was to Central Australia. Yes we climbed the rock, did not know any better. We all live in a yellow Grenda's bus, sung to the tune of Yellow Submarine. It was not comfortable. And our teacher cooked our first meal in Adelaide, put spaghetti in cold water.....yuk. Igor went to Kiewa., but the bus was snowed in. They got sent home. Had to make it home from Melbourne by themselves. No parents were notified!

I think Ann Ummels posted on this and just found this photo of her brother Bert at Lorne with Igor Wendt, Lawrie Martin and Lyndon Thompson. Hope she can see it through here. Cheers
