A group of First Nations students proudly attended the NAIDOC March in the South event today. 🖤💛❤

This year’s NAIDOC theme, “50 Years of Deadly,” celebrates 50 years of NAIDOC Week and honours the generations of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples who have contributed to the strength, resilience and pride of First Nations communities.

Students and staff were proud to take part in the march, showing their support and standing together with their community. It was a meaningful opportunity to celebrate First Nations culture, recognise the importance of history and look towards a strong and proud future.

We recently welcomed students and families to the 2026 Subject and Careers Expo, bringing together a wide range of Registered Training Organisations, employers, NDIS service providers, tertiary institutions and Cardijn staff. 💡🧠

Students and families were able to explore subject selection and SACE planning, university and VET pathways, apprenticeships, employment opportunities, NDIS supports and the Marcellin Pathway. They could speak directly with industry representatives, service providers, curriculum leaders and subject specialists to ask questions and better understand the options available.

Thank you to the many organisations and staff who shared their knowledge and helped our students make informed decisions about their future pathways. It was a valuable opportunity to ask questions, gather information, and feel more confident about what lies ahead.

The Environment Club and Lombard students took part in a native revegetation project around the College oval, planting 35 native trees and shrubs to help restore the area.🌳

Thank you to Jeremy Gramp from Green Adelaide and our Maintenance team for their support. Students also gained valuable experience in planting and caring for native vegetation.💚

We had the pleasure of hosting Secondary Catholic Principals from across the state for the Term 3 APCSS (Association of Principals of Catholic Secondary Schools) Meeting.

Our First Nations Captain, Mia, opened proceedings with a beautiful Welcome to Country.

🎤 The day was made extra special by a visit from our Galilee student singers, who travelled down from Aldinga with Kim Calderbank to perform the Galilee School Song for our guests.

💙 The students didn't just sing, they had the principals joining in, teaching them the hand signals and explaining the meaning behind the words. It was a wonderful moment.

🏆 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗥𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝘁 𝗟𝗮𝘀𝘁 | 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗫𝗩𝗜𝗜𝗜 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝗶𝗺 𝟮𝟴 𝗣𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁 𝗪𝗶𝗻 𝗔𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁 𝗔𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗮𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵

Our First XVIII have etched their names into the history books, claiming the 2026 Year 11/12 Division 1 School Sport SA Football Grand Final with a memorable 10.5 (65) to 5.7 (37) victory over Adelaide High School on Wednesday.

This match continued the rivalry between the schools. Adelaide High had won the previous three Grand Finals in 2022, 2023, and 2024, making this win especially significant for Cardijn.

In a tightly contested first half, both sides battled hard for every possession, with Adelaide High taking an eight-point lead into half time. Despite the deficit, the Cardijn boys remained composed and confident in their game plan.

In the second half, Cardijn's defence held Adelaide High to just 4 points, while our offence made the most of its scoring chances. We won by 28 points and took out the premiership!

While it was a genuine team effort, several students played particularly well. Cooper was dominant in front of goal, finishing with five majors, while Levi added four goals in a dangerous forward display. Bodhi and Tommy showed terrific composure in key moments, while Owen, Marley and Jacob led from the front, showing great determination and work rate.

Congratulations to all players, coaches and support staff on an outstanding achievement and a Grand Final victory that will be remembered for years to come.

We were delighted to have former professional footballer Neil Young visit on Tuesday to educate and facilitate a skills session with our Year 9 Football Academy students. ⚽🥅

Neil enjoyed an outstanding playing career spanning more than 510 professional appearances, representing clubs including Tottenham Hotspur, AFC Bournemouth (where he served as captain), Weymouth, and Cumberland United.

Today, Neil continues to play a significant role in the development of football in South Australia through the Neil Young Football Academy - NYFA, where he is dedicated to developing the next generation of players both on and off the field.

It was a fantastic opportunity for our students to learn from someone with such a wealth of professional experience and passion for the game.
