My My, how could you resist this?!

Months of rehearsals, line learning, choreography, costume changes and behind-the-scenes preparation came together in spectacular fashion. The costumes! The set! The energy! The TALENT!

Congratulations to our cast, crew, ensemble and band, who brought the house down and had parent WhatsApp groups buzzing with rave reviews. You have made the College community incredibly proud 💙

GOLD, SILVER AND BRONZE AT NATIONALS! 🥇🥈🥉

Another outstanding day for The Geelong College at the Australian Interschools Snowsport Championships.

Alana H was crowned Australian champion in Division 3 Girls Moguls and combined with Ivy R to win team silver. Alana also narrowly missed another medal, finishing fourth in Snowboard Cross.

Holly K completed the medal set with bronze in Division 1 Girls Ski Slopestyle.

Other results included:

• Ivy R: 26th, Division 3 Girls Moguls
• Sebastien P: 27th, Division 4 Boys Snowboard Cross
• Archie F: 38th in Snowboard GS and 39th in Snowboard Cross
• Oscar F: 45th, Division 4 Boys Snowboard Cross
• Sebastien P and Oscar F: 11th in the team event

These results take College’s championship tally to six medals, including three Australian titles.

A brilliant effort in another day of difficult weather and dwindling snow conditions. 💚💙

🥇 TWO AUSTRALIAN TEAM TITLES! 🥇

The Geelong College has made a brilliant start to the Australian Interschools Snowsport Championships at Perisher.

Alana H and Ivy R are Australian champions after winning gold in the Division 3 Girls Ski Slopestyle team event. Alana also claimed individual bronze, with Ivy finishing eighth.

Edward C, William C and Jack G won gold in Division 4 Boys Ski Cross, edging Cranbrook by just 0.47 seconds. Edward placed fourth individually and William sixth.

Other outstanding top-10 performances across the opening two days include Rupert C, seventh in Division 6 Boys Ski Cross and ninth in Alpine; William C, ninth in Division 4 Boys Alpine; Brigid K, 10th in Division 4 Girls Moguls; and the Division 4 Boys Moguls team, eighth nationally.

The conditions have been seriously challenging, with strong winds causing lift holds, long hikes to courses, rain and difficult snow. Our students have handled it all with enormous determination and good humour.

A special highlight was meeting Australian Olympians Cooper Woods, Matt Graham, Emma Bosch and Charlotte Woods. An unforgettable experience alongside some unforgettable results!

Two days down. Two Australian titles. Plenty more racing to come. 💚💙

On Thursday this week, our Clay Target Team travelled to Noorat for the South West Zone Interschool Shoot. 🎯

With fine weather and several new team members competing, the team was looking forward to the challenge. Around 170 students from across western Victoria took part in the event.

The College produced another strong performance. Hugh C. (Year 11) finished third in the Senior Boys competition, while Anthony B. (Year 9) impressed in the Junior Boys division. After finishing in a four-way tie for second place, Anthony shot a perfect five from five clays in the shoot-off to secure second place.

Anthony will now represent the South West Zone at the State Interschool Final in Echuca next week. Congratulations, Anthony, and well done to the entire Clay Target Team on a fantastic day of competition. 👏🎯

The costumes. The music. The flash mob. The energy. ✨

Yesterday's Junior School Book Week Parade embraced the theme Symphony of Stories in every sense, with staff going all in to create a morning students and families won't soon forget.

From Head of JS Jess Kelly and Deputy Head Rory McElligott to every member of the Junior School team, the commitment to the fun was remarkable. And that opening Bohemian Rhapsody flash mob? A crowd favourite.

🥉 Third in the state!

Our Primary School Netball Team delivered an outstanding performance at the Netball Victoria Primary School State Netball Championships, winning four of six matches to secure third place.

The opportunity to play against schools from across Victoria and compete on the same courts as the Melbourne Vixens was a highlight of the tournament.

A special thank you to coaches Lulu Shaw and Eliza Hannagan for their dedication and guidance in the lead-up to the championships. Congratulations to all players on a wonderful achievement and a fantastic result. 🏐👏
