Thank you to all the dads, carers and special visitors who joined us yesterday for a morning of connection and celebration.

This week at GLC we have been celebrating the men who walk beside us. For many of our students, this will be their dad, but for others it might be a grandfather, an uncle, a teacher, a youth leader, a friend or a neighbour.

Wednesday's event was all about celebrating these men, who were able to enjoy a complimentary hot beverage and treat, hear a rendition of John Farnham's 'You're The Voice' by the choir, receive a special card, and join students in their classrooms. Thank you to the P+F for running the morning's chocolate stall.

To all the GLC dads, we wish you a happy Father's Day for Sunday.

Our Year 1s have had some pretty exciting recent incursions featuring flashing lights 🚔🚑

As part of their Transdisciplinary inquiry into How We Organise Ourselves and Sharing the Planet, the Year 1s have been learning about the work of Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria in a hands-on way.

Thank you to the Emergency Services personnel who shared their time with our students, and for all they do to keep our community safe.

Happy Book Week!

It was great to see our Primary students across both campuses dress up as a favourite literary character and take part in costume parades with their class.

Well done to all the students, their families, our Resource Centre staff and teachers for helping GLC celebrate Book Week.

Thank you to the P+F team who put on this year's GLC St John's Newtown Disco, and to all the families who bought tickets for their children. It was a wonderful night full of fun and dancing for the students.

Our Year 3 students have been taking part in the ALWS REFU.Me Challenge, gaining a deeper understanding of the experiences faced by refugees around the world.

Through activities including walking 6km while carrying water, completing jobs around the school, and experiencing a day without electricity, students developed empathy, gratitude and an appreciation for human rights.

They also raised funds for ALWS to help refugee children access education and opportunities for a brighter future.

GLC is excited to announce that our May 2027 College Musical is Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat!

After 16 daily clues our GLC Armstrong Creek Musical Director Mr Gollasch this afternoon revealed to Secondary students and staff what the show is to be and the room with buzzing with energy and excitement. Students who will be in Year 7 at the Armstrong Creek campus in 2027 will also be able to audition, with more information about the audition process to follow.

The Biblical saga of Joseph and his coat of many colours comes to vibrant life in this delightful musical parable. Set to an engaging cornucopia of musical styles, from country-western and calypso to bubble-gum pop and rock 'n' roll, this Old Testament tale emerges both timely and timeless.

Be prepared to be surprised, delighted, entertained as you journey through Canaan and Egypt with the talented students and staff of GLC in May 2027 at the Geelong Arts Centre.

Happy 100 Days of Prep!

On Friday, our Preps came to school dressed as Centenarians to celebrate their 100th of school, and filled the day with a variety of fun and educational activities to mark this wonderful achievement.
