For over 50 years Queechy High School has had a reputation for delivering excellent educational outcomes for all students. Our high quality teaching and learning programs enable us to be a leading secondary school in Tasmania. More than 700 students choose to attend Queechy, arriving from our six local primary schools and joining others from interstate and international origins. The rich diversity

of our students is a feature of our school, providing opportunities to develop broad understandings and experiences that will best prepare them for successful futures. Our school is staffed by a highly committed and talented team of teachers and support personnel. As far as possible we make decisions and develop structures that allow us to foster and maintain strong, productive relationships providing quality pastoral care and supporting our students as they move from being dependent to interdependent learners and citizens. The Queechy curriculum develops essential skills, builds deep understandings and, importantly, promotes key personal and interpersonal attributes. Students are challenged by their work and we encourage them to take full advantage of the many opportunities for growth, and consolidation, offered. We believe a positive attitude, determination and perseverance are the foundations for future success.

๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿป๐ŸŽ‰๐‚๐ž๐ฅ๐ž๐›๐ซ๐š๐ญ๐ข๐ง๐  ๐’๐ญ๐ฎ๐๐ž๐ง๐ญ ๐’๐ฎ๐œ๐œ๐ž๐ฌ๐ฌ! ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿป

The 2026 Australian National Weightlifting Youth (U17) and Under 15 Championships were held in Melbourne over the weekend.
Queechy High School student, Leonard, travelled with the Elite Lifting team and overall, they successfully secured the team shield for Tasmania for the first time in history, beating the QLD team by 20 points.

Leonard competed on Sunday 30 August, he got 5 out of 6 lifts; with sn**ch lift of 70kg and clean & jerk lift of 92kg (personal best) for a total of 162kg. ๐Ÿ‹๏ธโ€โ™‚๏ธ

He received 1st place for U15 in his weight category and holds multiple National Records.
