Down time for our busy little people doesn't have to be indoors in air con in an artificial environment. It can be in fresh air, with the sounds of birds, trees and the ocean lapping at the shore. Outdoor sleeping is amazing for children. Give it a go. It's amazing for the soul.

Almost at the top of the world in Norway and we found a great nature school and playground. Need your winter woolies though. Wish we could go on excursions here.

I'm a barefoot lover. I can't stand having anything on my feet most of the time. I'm in Europe at the moment for their Winter and my biggest struggle every day is having to put shoes on.

It was a wet bushwalk today but we were determined to pick our blackberries for a pie on our last day of the year. And it was worth it, they were beautiful.

2024 will mark the beginning of a new chapter at our service. After 10 years as Marshall Munchkins Family Day Care, we will change our name to Garden Suburb Nature School. Our transition and evolution over the previous 10 years to a nature-inspired service aligns seamlessly with my educational philosophy, and the new name captures the essence of our learning program, hence the change.

Regular updates through our page will still keep families and the community informed and involved in this new phase of our journey. Meanwhile, I encourage all parents to reach out via our new email for any queries, as we continue to grow and learn together at Garden Suburb Nature School.

There is absolutely no better way to start the work week.

Depth perception, spatial awareness, problem solving and hand-eye coordination skill development today. This is what children initiate when given the opportunity for free play in natural environments. They inspire their own learning.

This is Christmas for us. Time in nature. No stencils or handprints just relaxation and quietness away from the hecticness of the season. Our program doesn't change. Our learning still takes place as it does all year long. In the best way possible. In nature.

Our blackberry pie is getting close. Unfortunately not many make it back to the car. Today we came home caked in blackberry juice and mud. So good.
