⚽🇦🇺 From Shortland to the World Stage! 🇦🇺⚽

During the school holidays, two of our very own students, Nate and Flynn, represented Northern NSW at the National School Futsal Championships in Brisbane!

Across four days of competition, the boys faced teams from all over Australia and achieved incredible success in their age groups.

🥉 Nate’s team finished an impressive 3rd overall in his age group.

🏆 Flynn’s team took home the championship title, becoming National Champions!

Both boys delivered outstanding performances throughout the tournament, catching the attention of Australian selectors. As a result, Nate and Flynn have both been selected to represent Australia on a tour to China in 2027! 🇦🇺✈️🇨🇳

This is an incredible achievement for both boys, and we couldn’t be prouder of their hard work, dedication and success!

Their journey is a fantastic example of how opportunities can start right here at Shortland Public School! By being part of our school futsal teams and participating in the Futsal tournament, students can develop their skills, build confidence and open the door to representative and even international opportunities.

Congratulations, Nate and Flynn! We can’t wait to see what the future holds for you both! 👏⚽

What an exciting day for our Year 1 and 2 students who took part in the NRL League Stars Rugby League World Cup Tag Day today!

Our students had an amazing time playing league tag, developing their skills and, best of all, meeting and spending time with players from the Fiji Men’s and Women’s International Rugby League teams! 🌟

There were plenty of smiles, laughter and enthusiasm as students enjoyed a fantastic day of fun, teamwork and rugby league.

A huge thank you to the NRL and the Fiji teams for providing our students with such a memorable experience! 🇫🇯👏
