We also conduct showcases twice a year at various local public venues including the Wickham Park Hotel. These events draw a big crowd of fmaily and friends and is a highlight of the GTS year. Our chief focus, though, is to help people to play the songs they love and have long wanted to be able to play. All areas of musical theory are covered, including how to read and write in standard notation and tablature. GTS runs guitar based community music programs at five local area public schools; KAHIBAH PS, STOCKTON PS HAMILTON NORTH PS, SPEERS PT PS and FERN BAY PS. We do the same for disability peer support and respite groups NEWLAKE PEER SUPPORT and DELANDO CORP. We also attend various group homes for the disabled around the greater Newcastle area.
