Introducing our 2026 Nestlé Golden Chef of the Year, Chef Ashleigh Handsaker! 🏆👩‍🍳 Representing NSW Regional, Ashleigh is a 23-year-old Sous Chef at Iron Gate Kitchen . This marks her fifth Grand Finals appearance, and is a true testament that persistence, hard work and dedication pays off. ✨👏

Our judges described Ashleigh as the definition of perseverance, praising a menu that reflected experience, confidence and technical skill, with every element working in perfect harmony:
🍄 Entrée: Mushroom and potato empanada, Grana Padano crema, pumpkin purée, pickled pumpkin ribbons made with MAGGI Natural Mashed Potato
🥩 Main: Beef flank, eggplant purée, candied eggplant, warrigal greens, raspberry glazed beef skewer, date jus made with MAGGI Jus Lié Sauce
🍯 Dessert: Honey vanilla crémeux, basil sweet crumb, coconut jelly, lemon gel, chocolate tuile made with Nestlé CARNATION Creamy Evaporated Milk
