"Music is a magic like no other, which can do incredible, unexplainable things." - Tom Fletcher
At Making waves we are shouting for joy and celebrating as we will have Anneke come and join us to implement a 12 week sound healing program. Anneke is an experienced early childhood educator as well as a dedicated sound healer. We are looking forward to being immersed in this beautiful experience that connects concepts of children's well being and music. It is through this beautiful experience that we have the pleasure of supporting children's empowerment and self growth. If you are interested in your child participating in this amazing experience we have limited positions, on a Friday for enrollment. This experience will occur with our children from 3 to 5 years and we are ecstatic about being involved with such a program that is dedicated to the well being of children. Please call us on 40443135 if you are interested in care on the Friday to participate in this program.

NAIDOC Week heightened our passion to strengthen our ever growing awareness, respect and acceptance for all others, to develop a relationship with our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community. We are however dedicated to acknowledging the community throughout our everyday program and practices. By encouraging our children to be self aware, to be brave and knowledgeable we hope that they will be empowered to make change.
Behind every child there is someone who has been so influential, someone who has had a valuable impact on supporting them to be just who they are.
We are proud of our children as this week they have embraced the many opportunities our Educators have offered them. With support they are exploring the many cultures that have built our community, and finding their own ways to share their voice.

NAIDOC representatives explain Elders as ”cultural knowledge holders, trailblazers, nurturers, advocate, teachers, survivors, leaders, hard, workers, and our loved ones. It is generations of knowledge that are highly respected by love ones and community members.”
As part of our acknowledgement of Elders within our cultures we wish to celebrate each persons connections to an important elder in their life. The past links us to our culture, and our history, and build a sense of belonging and connection to what makes us unique.
With photos and artefacts flooding in to create this beautiful celebration of our Elders, the children have made it their talking point. Intentionally our Educators have welcomed the children to share their thoughts as they take their time learning about one another and discovering their own identity.
Together we connect and bring a community of recognition, appreciation, respect, and celebration. There is so much knowledge to be built in exploring differences and each individual. It is through recognition of elders that we establish a community of openness and celebration for everyone and their unique contributions.

The environment is one of our most valuable resources...
and often we refer to it as the ‘third teacher’.
Here at Making Waves we watch, engage and listen to the children in order to design spaces and experiences to cater for their needs. Our Educators create these learning environments with specific intention, with an individual goal in mind for each child as they visit and often revisit to build on particular skills and development a deeper understanding. These spaces can invoke thought, a sense of wonder, and drive for further exploration; but this isn’t where it ends… these opportunities then get modified, adapted and redesigned in response to the child, their interests and development.
It is exciting to watch the children’s interactions and see how the environment will grow as we embark on a journey together.
