Now that our Little Footprints families are aware, I have some unfortunate news to share.
As part of my role as an Early Years Educator it is my job to put the children and their safety above all else. Unfortunately to do this and with the rental market being so competitive (I was looking for over 7months before I found a property) I have had to put my dreams of running the business from a rental property on hold for now.
This is not the end of Little Footprints Early Learning just a pause for now. I will still keep the business page active with photos of experiences and learning, as well as being able to answer any questions that you may have.
I have hopes of continuing my Family Day Care business down the track and in the meantime will still continue to acquire my knowledge, progressional development learning and resources, to aid my dream of being an Early Years Educator.
Thank you for your understanding and support for my little business. It is truly appreciated.☺️

Fostering a child’s sense of belonging is paramount in
Early Childhood. This poster provides some of the benefits and reasons why this is so important.

Little Foot Prints Early Learning recognizes that the 26th of January is a day of mourning for First Nations People’s.
It is a day Terra Nullius (a word meaning no one’s land) was claimed. When the reality was it was someone’s land and has belonged to First Nation’s People’s for thousands of years.
Little Footprints understands this and does not participate in January 26th celebrations and recognises they reside on stolen Awabakal land. Little Footprints Early Learning is committed to listening, learning and reflecting from First Nation’s Peoples and their culture to make positive changes.
This land Always was and Always will be Aboriginal land.

Happy Friday
To our children, families and community!
Here is a look at some of the experiences the children have enjoyed this week.
Our Water/ Ocean interest has stemmed from the children’s love of water play the week prior. As well as the children’s love of going to the beach and lake. One of our children also sharing their joy of going fishing on a boat last weekend.
Looking at our natural environments is a wonderful way of teaching children to care about our earth and ways that we can help.
We have had many a discussion about ways to reduce pollution and where our rubbish goes.
With one of the children stating “We don’t want our fishies to get sick!”
The children have also learnt the names of our sea creatures and their attributes.
Next week we hope to take this learning further.

New Blog: Tips for Educators on How to Not Celebrate Australia Day https://buff.ly/3GLKcdq
Within any one team there can be a spectrum of different feelings regarding the 26th of January and often in our work we encounter groups of educators struggling to form a consensus on what they should or shouldn’t do in regards to the date.
Check out the full blog in the link above for my tips around not celebrating Australia Day.

SPRING🌻☀️🌿
As we move into the Spring months. The children and I have expanded on our knowledge and interest in our natural world.
We have lavender growing against the fence in our outdoor area and the children will often comment on the lavender and the bees it attracts. The children know it’s important to keep our bees safe and happy as they play a major role in helping our earth.
We have planted our own herb seeds of Mint, Parsley and Rosemary and cannot wait to monitor the growth process. We have also participated in a wide range of sensory activities based around this. One of the experiences we visited this week and one of the children’s favourites was nature play dough. We were able to use our bee wooden bee stampers, dried flowers and also dried lavender from our backyard. I then added rolling pins, bee and butterfly toy insects and stones.
The children spent time engaging in this experience manipulating the play dough into their own creations using concentration, fine motor skills and dramatic play as well as discussing the bee images of the honeycomb, bee hive, bees on the wooden stamps.
