In joining our community on Facebook, Newcastle High School follows the Department of Education Code of Conduct and Facebook’s Terms and Conditions. STUDENTS
Facebook Terms and Conditions state no one under the age of 13 years should have a Facebook profile. Therefore, any comments or 'Likes' from primary students on the Newcastle High School page will be removed and if warranted users will be reported. TAGGING OR NAMING STUDENT PHOTOS
Photos of students are posted with reference to Department of Education publishing permission forms, completed on enrolment and other permission forms. For privacy and protection, please do not tag photos of children, and please do not name them in your comments. On rare occasions and with parental permission, students may be named by the school Facebook admin team. Tagging of parents or friends within the comment box is permitted with the understanding that all other rules of engagement are followed. COMMENTS POLICY

SHAPE NOMINATIONS FOR TAS STUDENTS
Huge congratulations to our graduating students Sienna and Harry, who have both been nominated for SHAPE, which is NESA’s annual showcase celebrating exemplary HSC major projects and student achievement. Sienna was nominated for her Textiles major project and Harry for his Industrial Technology Timber major project. A special thank you to Mrs Pearce and Mr Harrison for their incredible support and guidance throughout the year!!

STAFF v STUDENT TROPHY
Once again the Newy High Staff have taken out the 'Staff v Students Trophy' for another year. The series was all tied up at 2-2 coming into the final game of Volleyball. The staff took an early lead and it was almost over before it started. However, the students found some inspiration and crawled their way back into the game and found themself in the lead and then match point; it seemed all over for the Staff Dynasty. But the staff experience saw them save match point, go into the tie breaker and eventually win 24-22. It was a wonderful way for our Y12 students to finish their final week at school in Term 3, with plenty of laughs and enjoyment on the court. The 2026 year group will go down as the closest to winning the trophy in almost a decade!!

🎓 CONGRATULATIONS CLASS OF 2026 🎓
Today we had the absolute privilege of celebrating the graduation of our incredible Newcastle High School Class of 2026. What an awesome group of young people!

We are very proud of everything you have achieved, the friendships you have made, the challenges you have overcome and the contribution you have made to our school.
As you now turn your attention to your final HSC examination preparations, we wish you every success. We know you've got this!

Beyond the HSC, an exciting new chapter awaits. Wherever life takes you – university, TAFE, work, travel or something entirely different – we hope you take with you wonderful memories of your time at Newcastle High School and the confidence to embrace every opportunity ahead. Today you leave us as graduates and become our newest Newcastle High School alumni 💙

CREATE A CREATURE
Our Year 10 students have been unleashing their creativity and scientific minds in our latest "Create-a-Creature" project. They took on the role of either evolutionary biologists or professional concept artists to bring an entirely new organism to life. Students engineered creatures designed to survive in extreme environments like Mars or deep-sea trenches. To pass the ultimate survival test, they had to map out their creature's biological organisation, explain its homeostasis mechanisms, and prove how it utilises unique structural and behavioural adaptations to stay alive. Each character design was mastered considering the elements of form, texture, and scale to create visually striking creatures with their own unique identity and environmental context. We are very proud of the innovation and critical thinking on display! Check out some of their incredible final products in this post.

CAPA STUDENTS PUTTING ON A SHOW
As the Term comes to a close we would like to celebrate some of our Junior CAPA students who put themselves on stage at Hamilton Public School's CAPA evening. Drama students Amelya, Michael, Ethan and Oskar had audiences captivated with their masked performances, while Sophia, Sham and Aria serenaded them with their stunning voices. Well done!!

Y8 TREETOPS
Last week Year 8 ventured out to Treetops on the Central Coast for a day of fun in nature. Students were able to test their skills on the range of high ropes courses as well as enjoy a unique elevated playground featuring a huge network of bouncy nets, trampolines and colourful ball pits suspended high in the trees!!
