Are you an undergraduate STEM student at the University of Newcastle? The Centre for Organic Electronics is running a free 3-day Spring School event that is a perfect first step into research!
Hear from established researchers, guest speakers, and participate in interactive activities that demonstrate some of the research the COE does.
Through the grand challenge that is offered at the end of the 3-day event, it is also a fantastic opportunity to start in your own research as an undergraduate! If you have any questions please message the page!

"This three day event will give you a taste of the cutting-edge research that is going on in the Centre for Organic Electronics (COE) labs, highlighting the advantages of considering a career in research.
The school involves a mixture of lectures, demonstrations, a think tank and hands-on learning experiences. Highlights include:
1. Fabrication of your own organic solar cell and transistor that you can take home.
2. Hands-on operation of the COE's facilities.
3. Creating your own solutions to energy and sensor problems during a think tank session.
4. Prizes for the best devices and best solutions on the last day of the school.
5. Young Career scientist guest speaker from the CSIRO.
6. Collaborative electron microscopy session with the University of Sydney.
7. Meet 5 returning students from the 2019 Winter School cohort who published an article in the Journal of Chemical Education and hear first-hand what it's like to become a published author during your undergraduate years.
Dates: 7th - 9th of October, 2020
Time: 9am – 5pm each day except the last day, which goes until 3 pm (Lunch and morning tea are provided)
